Community Giveaway #23: $100 in Rewards for 5 winners! How much do reviews mean to you?
How to Enter:
1. Upvote this post.
2. Answer the poll.
3. Comment below answering the following questions:
In recent years, reviews on a product aren't what it used to represent anymore. Take Amazon for example, there's a fakespot.com to help you determine if the reviews are real or fake. Sellers giving away GCs in exchange for 5 Star reviews so their products have the most and best reviews.
So our question for this give away is:
Do reviews matter to you when making a purchase on ToyDemon.com? Why or why not?
Also do you have some favorite certain member(s) that you always read their reviews on ToyDemon before you make a purchase? If so who?
We are thinking of maybe doing a favorite/recommended review member section in community in which these members would write a review on new products to help others make their decision.
Let us know!
Prize(s):
$100 in Reward Point to 5 lucky winners.
Instead of 5 winners being randomly picked, our TD staff will pick out our favorite 5 comments on 07/23/2021.
Disclaimers:
* One entry per person, any account spamming will result in disqualification.

How much does stuff usually cost?
Sleeves
[x] $15-40. Disposable. Yeah sure I'll give it a try. Not a big deal if there's no reviews.
[x] $40+ Premium goods. Flagship items that are tried and true, like TOMAX, or the Julia+.
Hips
[] $10-40. Disposable. Yeah sure I'll give it a try. Not a big deal if there's no reviews. Usually won't be any hips at this price point.
[x] $40-150. Most hips are in this price point. I usually won't buy unless there's a couple detailed reviews of the hip or it's a brand I'm familiar with.
[x] $150+. Premium, big hips. Typically would either look up reviews or details online before buying. Wouldn't buy with no reviews.
Lube $ Accessories
[x] $10-20. Toy bags, cleaners, dry sticks, etc. If these turn out to be duds, it's not a big deal. Review independent.
As you can see, most of the stuff on the site lies a tad bit more than a takeout meal, so reviews absolutely matter. You wouldn't order a $100 burger on a whim, unless you knew it was absolutely worth it, or you had other sources of information right? Sex toys fall under a class of reusable products, so YMMV greatly. That $15 sleeve look interesting? Sure, go ahead and try it out. If it's a dud, who really cares - it's worth a try. That $300 hip with no reviews? It could either be a very expensive piece of jello, or it could be the most amazing experience. Either way, verifiable, detailed reviews are gonna be what you're looking for before you decide.
Favorited/recommended review members is a great idea. The closest parallel I can think of here is "Steam Curators" section, or even helpful user reviews. As for reviewers, I've recently been following @Greenwood95. They usually have a couple paragraphs' worth of information that is useful, with stuff like when they bought it, what the level of feel is, comparison to other products, clean-up difficulty, and overall value. When reading reviews, I typically gleam over anything that looks like a generic clickbait YouTube title: "WOW!!! FEELS GREAT 1000% MUST BUY!". While there's never a 1:1 in product preferences, just having detailed descriptions of various products at a good level of detail gives me another perspective I can trust.

@**ToyDemon** I find reviews incredibly useful. Here, on ToyDemon you know the person is a verified buyer. And being somewhat "new" to the whole scene, reading an extensive review on a product is most helpful when deciding which toy would better suit ones needs. Personally I think a well rounded review for every single product would be spectacular. Every toy has different properties, and every customer has different preferences.
Again, since I'm "new", I don't know where to find a decent review for most things. And honestly I wish more people would write more elaborate reviews for certain products. For me, personally, a good or bad review will be a deciding factor in making a final purchase.

Reviews definitely matter when I'm deciding on a purchase. I am personally very meticulous in my buying process, doing some research before I buy. If I can learn any information that can describe the build quality and textures, I can feel confident in my purchase.
I actually read reviews from other vendors' websites and sex toy blogs. I value any input, even going as far as Google -translating international buyers' reviews. I usually visit onahole.eu, onaholedouga, and Amazon.jp product reviews.
I actually do not seek out reviews from specific members, but I do look for people who have similar tastes. If there was a way to add preferences to our profile, like "soft" or "hard", it would definitely help people find onaholes to their preference based on the type of person that reviewed.
Thanks for listening! I always love to read the posts on these giveaways.

@**ToyDemon** The reviews on ToyDemon matter to me because I trust them to be genuine. From what I can see the reviews that I see here are not solicited fake reviews but are from actually people who have purchased and used the products. They are significantly different opinions that I can weigh and measure to better get a feel for what I'm considering on purchasing. I guess, in the end, it's trust, I TRUST the reviews here.
I don't have any specific favorite members, but I do tend to give more weight to the reviews of members who have the most likes, or who have the greater number of posts, as I view them to be more experienced, and have a better feel of quality, texture and overall trustworthiness of a company or product. I kind of picture them as people who have already purchased and experienced a great number of onaholes/toys. They've already been-there-done-that. They are my Toy Demon Elders, so to speak. :)

1. Of course reviews matter. They're not end all be all, but they do provide a good reference as to what to expect. In the end if something interests me, I will buy it, unless everyone who bought it says it's terrible and disintegrates after one use. They do help in the fact that some of the Japanese manufacturers aren't very descriptive of their product—with a few not even having a website for their products. So in a good number of cases, you have to rely on reviews to see how big/small they are, how durable they are, how easy/hard to clean they are and so on. You would think that every company would have a list of the size of the hole and the tunnel length, and yet I have to find out many of this through reviews or specific websites.
2. I always found Geezer's reviews to be funny to read, with his "elegant" usage of language, although I wouldn't consider him a factor if I'm buying a product or not. I always wonder if he actually is an old man

@janustheanus I am replying about the easier way to see verified purchase. Do you mean on the product page or somewhere else? Because under a product's review tab, towards the top there's a check box for "Verified Buyers" if you check it, it filters all reviews to Verified Purchase only. We have thoughts about changing reviews can only be submitted by verified buyers but that's a discussion in progress right now and not sure if we'll make the change. If we do we'll announce it.
I also like your idea of displaying more info about the user, maybe we could add something under username in the reviews. Because we already have all that info if you just click on the username, depending on what device you're on, on desktop it's simply ctrl+click and you can see that person's stats, but we do realize it could be a hassle on mobile. We also don't want to stuff too much text in a small space as it might be hard to read on mobile as well. So we'll see how it goes, but thanks for the suggestion.
Lastly, if you see someone with a lot of upvotes, chances are they come from reviews. Not sure if we ever mentioned it, but writing a review gives a user 3 upvotes, posting a topic gives a user 2 upvotes, leaving a comment gives a user 1 upvote. Based on the activity we have seen on the community, if you see anyone with a high upvote count (other than this account of course as I farm upvotes with giveaways lol), chances are they are from the reviews they have written. Hope that clears somethings up for you.

@**ToyDemon** I meant that you can click on someone's profile and view which products they've purchased, if they're willing to make it public of course. Interesting to see what kind of stuff they have, where their perspective is coming from. I would be okay with promoting verified reviews first, as now they seem to be strictly off review date.
As far as user info, there could be a collapsible tab maybe for 'advanced stats' like total purchases, size if reported. I'm not much of a mobile user so I'd defer to your UI people on that one. On PC, I'd love to be able to see more without clicking through to a profile page.
I wasn't aware of how the upvotes here worked, so thanks for sharing. I like that you skew towards reviews as I'd agree that it's more important than posting in the Community discussions, and I'll keep it in mind when skimming reviews!

@**ToyDemon** A reviewer needs to provide rich detail, and needs to be honest. Some of these toys are like goblins... small, squishy, and easy to break. That isn't always a bad thing, especially when the prices are so low, but before we put our wieners in these toys, we want to know what to expect.

I love reviews. It’s so helpful to get a users thoughts and understand what their experience was like. I tend to ignore bad reviews unless I see a pattern of something specific (like if a product has defects often), but will read every good review.
For particular reviewers, I like the ones left by Winkyblink, ramallamadingdong, and Greenwood95. They go in depth enough to give me some real information, and stay positive in how they talk, even on products they don’t like.

@**ToyDemon** Reviews are the best part of your site. My budget is limited and I've been disappointed enough times by a new gimmick or shiny packaging to no longer spend more than 20 bucks on a onahole that isn't reviewed. If something has 700 reviews and is coming in at 4.5 stars I know it's a legitimate score. With a high volume I can find at least one review that will compare it to another onahole I've had which is extremely influential when determining what I'm going to purchase. I try to find something with around 30+ scores, which is what any first year statistician will tell you is probably the floor for producing a balanced score.
I don't follow anyone's reviews, but will put much more stock in a person who has 20+ verified purchases than someone with none. This has played a huge role in my previous purchases, especially when being convinced to go for a high end meiki every so often. The best reviews are always the ones that lean towards critiques. "If this is your thing and you like this, you might enjoy this. If you don't like this, it's probably not for you. Compared to the zyx this one is...." I can't stress how helpful it's been to have a comparison point in different price ranges.
Now if a reviewer says, "This is only my third purchase but it gets 5 stars," I don't put much faith in that review, or reviewer. But if there are 10 5-star reviews on a product with no negative feedback I know it's probably a winner. Ride's new onaholes are a good example of this; sometimes it's only positive and you know off the bat it will be a winner. However, if a reviewer only produces positive reviews I know that their opinion is probably garbage. So yes, knowing that a buyer is knowledgeable makes a difference in weighing the credibility of a review.

@**ToyDemon** The real man goes on his own choice. BUT ToyDemon.com reviews are verified and trusty-worthy . So, It helps me a lot to make right decision.
I don't keep tabs on specific member reviews, although the Verified reviewer who actually bought the product that I'm interested in, I'm in trust.

Do reviews matter to you when making a purchase on ToyDemon.com? Why or why not?
I read the reviews for products a lot, to gauge the general opinions. A lot of reviews also like to compare products and what their take is on them which is helpful if you're not sure between two products. As for favorite reviewers, I don't really pay that much attentions, oops, but definitely someone with more reviews under their belt gives them more credibility.

>Do reviews matter to you when making a purchase on ToyDemon.com? Why or why not?
The overall score matters, but most written reviews aren't really helpful for people like me. Well, I guess they are actually. Usually is someone lists the hole as too small then that is a pretty good indicator that I should look more into this product, lol.
>Also do you have some favorite certain member(s) that you always read their reviews on ToyDemon before you make a purchase? If so who?
Nope. I never once paid attention to the name of other users on here. Most reviewers, even anonymously, aren't willing to say, "Hey, I'm fat and got a small dick, here is my review!"

Do reviews matter to you when making a purchase on ToyDemon.com? Why or why not?
- Reviews matter to me a lot. Toys aren't something you can try out before buying, and they can also be pretty expensive. Without reviews, there's nothing you can use to judge the quality of what you're buying, and no one wants to pay for something they don't like in the end. If you search around online for reviews, many people will tell you about fake reviews or fake products on websites like amazon. Without hearing about this information from multiple sources, I would have continued to purchase from amazon. However, these warnings from many people (mostly on Reddit) have changed my mind and persuaded me where to purchase from. In conclusion, reviews mean everything to me since I believe it's the best way to avoid wasting money.
Also do you have some favorite certain member(s) that you always read their reviews on ToyDemon before you make a purchase? If so who?
- I don't have a favorite member that I read reviews from. To me, I assume there's plenty of reviewers online who get paid to advertise certain products. Therefore, those reviewers are biased and I don't trust everything they say. What matters to me is consistency in reviews. If I see a specific product that is well-reviewed by many different people, then I may be convinced the product is good. It's true that everyone has different tastes, but I firmly believe going with the most popular opinion is the best way to avoid wasting money on something I may not like.
We are thinking of maybe doing a favorite/recommended review member section in community in which these members would write a review on new products to help others make their decision.
- Based on how I answered the previous question, having a recommended review member would not be something I would be interested in. I imagine popular reviewers to be very biased and I'm more interested in general consensus rather than the opinion of one person.
Extra thought: It's possible that I prefer going with the general consensus opinion because I'm relatively inexperienced with toys and don't know what kinds of toys I'd be interested in most (ex. hard vs soft, textures, etc.). Therefore, I want to go with the safest option. However, for people who are experienced and just want to find new things to try, reviewers they like may be good for them.

I look at the toy pictures that show the features and any gimmick that the toy has. If I find the toy interesting then I look at the reviews only when its like a company that I haven't used yet. The experience is different for everyone I have the don't knock it till you try it mentality.
I have trust for companies more than people like ToysHeart ,MagicEyes and A-One so if I see a toy by these companies that I like then I feel more trusting that I will like it.

@**ToyDemon** Reviews are easily the most important thing to me when looking at purchases. Something that I love about ToyDemon specifically is the option to post length and girth with reviews for people to compare with. As someone that is 6" length and 5.4" girth, the toys that work well with me can be limited. I have had toys in the past that were too small and tight to the point of being uncomfortable and I've had toys that feel great, but break after a few uses. Since these kinds of products can't be returned, nor should they, they simply get thrown out and the money spent is wasted. With all of those experiences, I won't buy a product unless it's reviewed by someone with similar girth and at least the same length. Bonus points if that person also reviewed a toy I have and our experiences match. That would pretty much make it an easy choice. The one exception would be toys made by the same brand and similar style between toys such as how consistent Tomax toys are.
As for the member, I easily have to shout out Wanderingmidget for his reviews. His review of My Erotic Maid Servant was what got me to pull the trigger on the toy. His experience matched mine exactly and I couldn't be happier with my purchase. In fact, I'll probably be purchasing the Masochistic Vampire Arune Trance due to his review even though he's the only one to review review it.

I do find reviews quite helpful, especially on some of the bigger ticket items. I may be willing to roll the dice on a cheaper product but it’s nice to get more detail about the product from those who have already purchased/used it.
That said, I tend to read the reviews with a grain of salt, especially when looking at the star rating. I prefer to leave reviews and ratings based on the quality of the product, price points, and accuracy of the description. For example, if an onahole is too soft/hard for my tastes, but is well made, I’d prefer to leave my opinion in the review but not impact the rating. I tend to see on larger items like boobs or torsos maybe getting a 3 or 4 star instead of a 5 because they are “hard to clean” or “hard to hide” which isn’t specific to the individual product but the type of product as a whole.
I’ve seen comments as well in regards to revisions or additions to reviews which I think would be a great. I try to allow a month or so to use the product and get a good feel before just jotting down first impressions but there are instances where I thought a product was good before trying a competitor.
I’m not sure I see a certain users reviews more often than on here so I can’t say I watch more than others.

Overall I would say yes but only if there is a common agreement. Like if one person says that its not good, it could just be that one person. But if several people all say it's not that great, then there has to be something there. Same goes with positive reviews; only one positive review then I'm a little skeptical. But if there are multiple good reviews all saying similar things, then absolutely it affects my decision.

@**ToyDemon** Reviews are a must before taking the leap on purchasing an item. I know that everyone may have different preferences, size, etc., however knowing that a specific item has received positive reviews makes me feel much better about purchasing it. Like many, I'm fairly new to the community and don't necessarily have the funds to take the risk on multiple items. I try to do as much research as possible before each purchase to ensure I'm making a good choice.
I don't keep tabs on specific member reviews, although the amount of upvotes on reviews, and making sure it's coming from a verified buyer definitely influences the impact of the review. Outside of the toydemon site, I frequent reddit to see any other opinions on specific toys prior to purchasing.

@**ToyDemon** In Amazon, there are sellers who manipulate the reviews to boost sales on their own products. However, in ToyDemon, I trust that the admins and the users of the site to provide their honest reviews. ToyDemon is not just an adult toy selling website, it's a "community"

@**ToyDemon** Reviews are the most important thing for me when it comes to making a decision on buying something on this website. I mean of course there are exceptions, if there is an onahole that I want to test out and there are no reviews or even if it doesn’t have many reviews I’ll get it and share my experience and hopefully helping somebody in making the decision. Good reviews are the reason why I make most purchasing decisions. I mean nobody would want to waste their money on a bad products and it sucks when people pay for fake reviews but that is the case for most markets and we have to find new ways to combat it. I’m crossing my fingers that doesn’t happen with this website but if it ever does I think for the most part we could spot out the fake ones for now because of their vagueness of most fake reviews for example. When it comes to my favorite reviewer i do not currently have one. I have only mad a few purchases on this website so I try to read multiple peoples reviews and I don’t just stick to the reviews on this site alone but I will also go and try to scavenge for other reviews on the interwebs. Thank you for taking your time to read this long winded comment. I hope you have the nicest day :)

@**ToyDemon* Reviews are the little push that sends me towards or away from a product. I don't really need them as much now that I know what I'm looking for in an onahole, but it's definitely a big help for beginners and veterans alike.

@**ToyDemon** I look at reviews, and they will heavily influence a purchase, but if a shape interests me and the price is right, I might get it anyway.
I don’t look for certain members, but on r/onaholetoys (I think) Mike_from_co (or something like that) is always replying to topics with helpful insight! Like he’s in at least 50% of the posts I click on.
As far as reviewing products myself, I ordered a Julia+ and it’s great and it has flaws, but also it has a bunch of reviews and nearly all of them already say what I’d have to say about it. But I am going to definitely review the new release that just came in that currently only has 1 review. Good/bad, it’s important to leave honest reviews.

@**ToyDemon** Reviews definitely matter 100%. Sucks that people are scamming reviews, but it is what it is, everyones trying to compete looking for an edge. But definitely depend on good reviews, especially being new to the market, most of the stuff on my wishlist is due to a good recommendation. Only a few were because of personal interest honestly, but there are a few im curious about reviews aside, just a small percent. A review helps reinforce a decision on something i personally like, you never want to be let down having high expectations, especially if you have to choose between A or B when money is tighter than any onahole. Love to see reviews with some personality too, got some good laughs from guys describing how amazing the products can be lol Dont really have a "favorite reviewer", havent been in the community long enough, but would love to see honest loyal customers get rewarded.

Reviews do matter to me. They aren't an absolute need in order for me to purchase a product, and I certainly don't mind blazing the trail so to speak. However, I look out for certain details in reviews regardless of the number of stars.
I look out for descriptions of durability, ease-of-use, and specific use case. For example, a breast toy might be solidly rated at 5 stars, but if people say that the toy isn't good for paizuri, it doesn't fit a use case I'm looking for. These details, usually part of longer and more thoughtful reviews, are what really make the difference to my buying experience.
I have to give shout-outs to N7Commander and Mike from Colorado (sorry if I messed up your usernames at all) for their detailed reviews and activity in the community. The latter especially is a promoter of male sexual health and leaves tons of feedback on products and forum posts.

@**ToyDemon** I'd say my choices are more based on personal tastes, but I do take reviews very seriously. I know that Meiki is making some of the best selling onaholes in the industry, but I'm much more likely to buy anime-themed onaholes, to be honest. However, if it's a badly rated anime-themed onahole, I probably won't purchase it.
I'm very honest in my reviews. All of the reviews here seem to take the same tone of honesty and appear to be given in good faith, so I do read them for every product I am even mildly interested in.
I do not have anyone specifically I follow for reviews.

>Do reviews matter to you when making a purchase on ToyDemon.com? Why or why not?
yes it matters, and the disengenuine comments hurt not only the user buying the product, but the product as well. I've read so many comments here it's easy to tell whos gassing the product up or being genuine.
If I see a product with only one 5 star review and its one of the generic "worth every penny!!!!" reviews I'm instantly more hesitant to purchase the product.
these same products get follow up reviews awhile later with people being disappointed in the product because it wasn't as amazing as they thought it would be.
>Also do you have some favorite certain member(s) that you always read their reviews on ToyDemon before you make a purchase? If so who?
I really don't care whos reviewing the product, I know what I'm looking for and I read all the comments to evaluate the pattern and see the product for what it really is.
There are times I would click on a user who I see has written a lot of reviews because I'm curious to see what they consider 5 stars.
We are thinking of maybe doing a favorite/recommended review member section in community in which these members would write a review on new products to help others make their decision.
I do like that. maybe you can add the option to add a profile photo or even follow other users, sort of like an influencer, but for ona holes. haha.

Hello!
For me, reviews matter a lot. Prior to purchasing for the first time today, I spend more than 15 mins reading the reviews of multiple products. It has helped me narrow down what I was looking for!
I did not have a favorite certain members but I did notice some that had review many products and I found what they said informative.
I believe more reviews is good and will help new customers understand and find what they preferred.
Thanks!

@**ToyDemon** reviews are helpful but they are not the end all be all. As you mention reviews can be flooded with fake or inflated opinions. Many people also rate something subjectively so I might I have a different experience than them.
Having select reputable members that rate a toy objectively sounds like a good idea. Maybe underated toys might get the justice they deserve.

Not really.

While all my purchases have been from brick and mortar through my contact (my next purchase is going to be from here i promise please dont disqualify) reviews matter to me because i am generally clueless and unemployed so a new hole is like buying furniture for me
I dont really pay attention to members because it feels pointless to remember usernames on the internet

"Do reviews matter to you when making a purchase on ToyDemon.com? Why or why not?"
- Reviews matter when considering a purchase but I also take the reviews with a grain of salt. I believe this because a product can have an average of 4-stars but some people will might review it less because they don't feel the same thing as the other reviews. Then again, if a product has a high average of 4 or 5-stars it will most likely be 5-star worthy so reviews usually do weigh more in the decision to purchase a product.
"Also do you have some favorite certain member(s) that you always read their reviews on ToyDemon before you make a purchase? If so who?"
- To be honest, I didn't really notice common reviewers since I didn't look out for it but now I'll keep an eye out on reviews to see if I can find a favorite member.
"We are thinking of maybe doing a favorite/recommended review member section in community in which these members would write a review on new products to help others make their decision."
- This would be amazing since customers will be able to look at reviews that are from trusted reviewers personally recommended from ToyDemon. With this feature implemented, it would definitely help my decision making on a product WAY easier.

@**ToyDemon** So, I look at any onaholes that look interesting to me. Then, I skim thru all the reviews, and see what the general consensus is. I look for keywords like softness, texture, material quality. Then if it seems like it fits my preferences, it'll usually be what tips me over the edge and purchase something.
When I was new to the onahole game, I basically solely relied on reviews though. I had nothing else to go on. I did not have any particular reviewers I was following, at least not on this website. I was visiting people's blogs though.

@**ToyDemon** I'm a complete noob to this site, I literally haven't even received my first order yet, but reviews were definitely important in helping me decide what went in my first order and what's going in future orders. I was originally planning on ordering the Nezuko parody hole or Mouth of Truth (La Bocca Della Verita) but ended up ordering Student Council President due to the good reviews describing it as "gorilla-grip" (lol) or "amazing suction."
That being said I answered "So So" on the poll, because I'll feel comfortable buying as long as the reviews aren't overwhelmingly negative (like lower than 3 stars.) I'd even be fine trying out something with no reviews or very few if I had interest in it. As an example that Nezuko parody hole has a few reviews saying it's disappointing due to the fangs being too soft, but man I want a Nezuko onahole so I'm buying that damn onahole in my next order. But if the reviews were saying it broke after a week or the fangs were too hard and were slicing dicks off, then yea I'd probably reconsider.
As for specific ToyDemon reviewers, due to being new I couldn't really name any. But I did actually only decide to finally dip into these products due to stumbling upon InfernalMonkey's website a few times and seeing his reviews. I appreciate the length of them and detail that they go into, and I'd definitely appreciate seeing reviews similar to that on this site. Once I have some more experience I'd like to write some long-ish reviews on items I ordered as well, but I'd definitely need to try a few out first since I'm not even sure what the difference between a hard/soft material is when it comes to these products.

Looking at product reviews have always been a mixed experience for me. I like to educate myself on the pros and cons of an item to see if it’s actually worth spending my hard earn cash. Sometimes a single review, either good or bad, can sway my opinion and add to the indecisiveness that I am already feeling.
However with onaholes, where everyone has their own preferences, that challenge is intensified. It’s difficult to find a review and product that actually suites my tastes. For example, when I was buying my Venus Real Rich Soft I wasn’t sure how soft Rich Soft was even after reading reviews and seeing gifs of it. It wasn’t until I actually got my hands on the Venus Real did I feel how soft it was.
Now after buying a few onaholes and figuring out what I like, I mainly look for onaholes similar to what I have or from brands that I like or are reputable. The reviews just help narrow down and create a priority list of what I should get first.
So at the end of the day, negative reviews can drive me away from certain products while buying products with positive reviews is still a gamble.

@**ToyDemon** I'm still pretty new so the reviews definitely help a lot. I don't know a lot of reviewers but the stars and the comments are enough to get an idea if a product is good or not.

@**ToyDemon** I usually make my decisions based on several factors such as how reputable the source is. For example, I don't trust Amazon due to the reasons listed on the original post. I'm fairly new to onaholes and so far I've based my decisions on the user reviews on Toydemon and by Knifebro69's reviews on reddit. So far it's worked out. I think it's tough to find a decent source for reviews on Men's toys and I'm not sure why. I agree with @iLuvBobz and I wished people would either write a review or provide more details about why they believe the product their reviewing is good or bad.
Kilirk ( 1 )
@**ToyDemon** As a new user who just got my feet wet a week ago. Reviews help me who don't have any knowledge what so ever to easily pick my first toy as users share their experience with the toys and compare it to other products. Number of reviews also indicate popularity of the toys and the consistence with many users. I would say 20+ reviews on toys are decent poll when I look at toys to buy the rest just narrow to taste.
All and all I would say reviews are pretty important for newcomers as first impression is everything and I'm also very pleased with the toy I just got a few days ago. When I have more experience as I know what I am getting into or when I see a product with a girl I really like, reviews would matter less or none impact at all.

Reviews do matter, however I have not considered the reviews posted on Toydemon. For reviews, it gives me an idea of what to expect from a certain onahole and also determines if I should buy it or not. Personally, I visit other websites/blogs mostly from Japanese reviewers on their thoughts on an onahole i'm keen to purchase.

This is a tricky area. I think reviews matter and I still generally pay attention to them at TD. There are a few reasons for this. First, I think the products here are niche enough that we aren't yet at the point of manufacturers taking the less than ethical approach of paying for good reviews. Not to say that this couldn't change, but right now on this site I don't see it as a problem.
Second, given the nature of these products there aren't returns or satisfaction guarantees, so if you buy a dud you're kind of just stuck with it. If something has toooons of positive reviews (e.g. Meiki ZXY or La Boca Della Verita) its a pretty safe bet to a new comer that they'll enjoy it.
However, what I think makes a lot of this tricky is its literally different strokes for different folks (pun absolutely intended!). While myself and the other 10 reviewers might love product a, maybe for you due to a variety of reasons (size, sensitivity, preference) product a just isn't your cup of tea. Now that I've tried quite a few onaholes I have some ideas of my own preferences, so while I still pay attention to reviews I have no qualms ignoring them if a product looks interesting to me (or purchasing when there are few/no reviews).
As far as favorite reviewers, that is tricky. Ideally it would be a reviewer who has tried lots and lots of onaholes to be able to compare a given product against the others out there in a meaningful way. In a perfect world, it would also be a reviewer who's tastes and preferences match my own--e.g. I don't like the really intense experiences (I'm thinking of something like the Magic Eyes original Lolinco or other toys that folks describe as a "dick bully"--they're intense that its hard for me to take my time and enjoy the way I prefer with softer less intense toys), so a reviewer who loves those toys and has tried a million others still may not provide me as much useful feedback unless his reviews go into detail and provide context so that I can determine that product a that he loves won't be for me, but product b that he doesn't enjoy might be in my wheelhouse.
I guess a member that sticks out in my memory for at least showing up in a lot of review sections (implying that he had tried lots of toys) was @geezer, but I haven't seen any of this members reviews lately. However, for the reasons above I'm a little ambivalent towards the idea of a favorite/recommended reviewer. It can be tricky for me to know what else they've tried and where their preferences are and why.

1. reviews matter a lot. That's really how I buy anything nowadays. I honestly came to toydemon through xxxbrandedreviews. I wonder why there aren't nearly as many reviews as there are buyers. Really wish people would review more to help others out. I review pretty much everything I buy on here. I enjoy giving my opinions but I understand others may not feel as comfortable.
2. No, but I went on the forums a few times and I did take notice of some users with larger collections because they have the knowledge to compare different onaholes. I also listen to those experienced with actual women because they're able to rate how realistic an onahole is.

Reviews matter to me a ton. Especially since I’m pretty new to the whole scene, I do not know what makes certain products, like their materials, cost, etc., worth buying. Reviews help me to understand this a bit more and have influenced many if not all of my purchases on this site so far.
A favorite/recommended review member system sounds like a great idea. A sort of system where active reviewers gain a sort of reputation for accurate and quality reviews would help newer users pick out quality products they would enjoy. Also, if a reviewer that has reviewed products in the past that I used and enjoyed goes on to purchase a newer product, I may do the same. I personally don’t keep track of the names of reviewers here, but if the site were to keep track of this for me and recommend reviewers, that would be a huge help.

@**ToyDemon** Reviews are one of only 3 things I really considered for my purchase. It is the most important thing for me. I recently purchased my first sleeve, and now am considering buying my second. I was very pleased with the seventeen evo, which I picked for the main reasons that the sleeve and packaging looked nice, it was in my ideal price range, and the reviews were 4+ star. Quite frankly, I did not even consider any options below 4 stars. I was quite satisfied with my purchase, and am looking to do the same for my next one - i didn't really read the reviews themselves, because I don't really know what sensitivity/softness/etc. really mean, i just looked at the overall star rating and how many people have voted. I wish there were more star reviews especially on expensive ones so I could better gauge how good a product is with more responses. Overall, reviews are extremely important, if it isn't at least 4 I won't even consider the product.
As above, I don't read review comments themselves, so of course I also don't have a favorite reviewer. i am interested in a review member section though, because if they have a lineup that seems to consist of things i may enjoy, i would very much consider making the same purchases as them. Perhaps a reviewer that specializes in the 30-60$ range of products, as that's what I think i'll mostly be getting. I also do plan to eventually make one big purchase, maybe once the more expensive items have more reviews on them.

Reviews are very important - they make or break a product. A product with several good reviews is generally a good sign, and is generally going to be a solid choice. However, it should be noted that reviews are very subjective because everyone is different! Despite this, reviews are generally very important for spotting red flags and also noting good features while doing research.
I don't follow anyone in particular.

@**ToyDemon** I always try and read reviews but I take them with a grain of salt. It really helps when the reviews are well-written and detailed, especially if they were written some time after getting the product and not shortly after trying it out so I can determine whether or not it will fit my preference as well as its durability. As some have said, I tend to also read other reviews on the web if there are not a sufficient amount of reviews here.

I find the reviews quite helpful. They aren't everything, and since we all have different shapes and sizes, they don't all apply to me. For me the best reviews are the ones that are more descriptive, or compare different toys. Knowing that ABC is kind of like DEF except a little softer is more useful than knowing that ABC is someone's favorite. My sense is that more (most?) of the reviews are genuine, which is the opposite impression that I get from.... almost every single other site on the internet.
I voted the second highest on your choice of three; I would have voted second highest on a choice of five. Reviews really are useful, but I wouldn't say no to something only because it has no reviews.
A related comment: the "details" section for products is inconsistent. Sometimes it gives some sizes, occasionally "insertion depth", which I think is possibly the single most important number? I'd like more details, and more consistent details.

@**ToyDemon** I definitely trust verified reviews, whether it be on this site or in a similar community that also requires purchase verification in order to post their review/opinion piece. With products that are as personal as those found on ToyDemon, it is increasingly important to find genuine reviews of the products you are interested in. With regards to reviews from specific users, I am quite new so I don't have any reviewer names that stand out yet. However, if it was easier to view all reviews of a specific user through a system such as a curated review blog, then I would certainly seek out and trust the opinions of individuals who highly rated products which I have also personally enjoyed; as I would be reassured that their opinions are accurate and match my own preferences - it would also make me more likely to buy a lesser-reviewed product if it received a positive review from such a user.
prettydash ( 10 )
@**ToyDemon** I do read the reviews, at least the first page when considering a purchase. The three star reviews are the most reliable to me personally, as they can reveal a good balance of positive and negative qualities.
I wish there were more incentives to leave a review, such as extra reward points or separate sweepstakes entries.

Yes absolutley
Also do you have some favorite certain member(s) that you always read their reviews on ToyDemon before you make a purchase? If so who?
Not yet
We are thinking of maybe doing a favorite/recommended review member section in community in which these members would write a review on new products to help others make their decision.

>>> Sometimes. Newer products are almost always a leap of faith but older products tends to have solid review. So unless I am buying something from over 6 months old, I don't care about the review too much --- except when there are over a few bad review detailing the same problem.

@**ToyDemon** I absolutely consider reviews important when choosing a product, and will always check the current ones when browsing specific products. However, I feel like it is important to actually read the reviews themselves rather than simply check the star rating. Not all reviews are exactly objective, and some complaints behind less positive reviews may just be issues with the relative size (which is typically their own fault for not reading the product measurements), or a generic "it sucks" without any details. If the negative reviews are not convincing enough, they won't stop me from getting something with a design I find interesting from a trustworthy manufacturer. I often look for comments about the material quality and durability, since those are legitimate concerns that are hard to guess from the product images. I also appreciate direct comparisons to other specific products, as it gives me ideas about possible alternatives or future purchases.
I consider posting reviews to also be important, especially on products that haven't been reviewed yet. Any additional information from someone who actually used the product will almost always be more useful than what can be found on the box, and can help other people make their own decisions. Once again, try to provide an objective assessment and give specific reasons for your rating, whether positive or negative.

Yeah they matter a lot to me. I don't really even consider buying something that's less than 3-4 stars. I made my most recent order because of how many good reviews it received. When I was deciding between 3 items I had narrowed my choices to, I went for the one with the best reviews.
Also do you have some favorite certain member(s) that you always read their reviews on ToyDemon before you make a purchase? If so who?
No, I just read through all the reviews that a product offers so I can get a general gauge.

@**ToyDemon** Reviews are incredibly useful in determining whether or not a toy is right for me. Just like everyone else, I have my own preferences and I would like to see what people think of a product before I buy it, especially if they have similar preferences to myself.

@**ToyDemon** Reviews are incredibly important to me in general because it's how you know you can trust a product a company puts out. On ToyDemon, Reviews are incredibly important because they are how we can see if an item is worthwhile to me or not.
I don't have a favorite reviewer on ToyDemon, but I do have a couple blogs I look at to look for any interesting items. I'll also usually look at the reviews on different storefronts to help see if the item is for me.
I think a favorite/recommended reviewer section is a great idea. It would let the people who write knowledgeable and thorough reviews be seen easier by customers and help them faster.

@**ToyDemon** Reviews for the most part do influence my decisions when making a purchase. If there is something im on the fence about a quick look through the reviews would dictate whether or not i end up buying it. However, i feel the pictures of the toys and its cut open or in half pictures are equally influential towards my purchase. Because if it got me curious enough i would end up buying it. I remember a long while back, there was another toy selling website where they normally had a small video of the toy. In the video they would squish and stretch the toy so people can get a general understanding of its firmness. They would also show what the toy looked like from the front, inside, and cut open for a better look at the inner workings and textures of the toy. It was a wonderful demonstration, and answered a lot of questions that existing reviews may not have touched upon or may differ from person to person(firmness). In regards to a favorite member, i normally do not check usernames when reading reviews as i just skim through looking at pros and cons. Perhaps if that user had a special accent somehow it would catch my eye and i would pay more attention.
bruhapple ( 35 )
@**ToyDemon** Honestly without someone reviewing a product on the site it would of been really sketchy and I probably wouldn't of bought any of my onaholes if it wasn't for the open-minded reviews the site allows. Whenever I'm going to browse to buy an onahole I'll go to the reviews just to make sure it will be worth buying or not. I really wouldn't want to waste money on something I don't want, so having a second opinion on a product really does help in my decision making on my purchases.
I honestly really hate when a product is brand new and doesn't have a review because then I don't know if it will be a good idea or not, really a gamble. I salute those who take the risk on buying the products without reviews lol.

@**ToyDemon** Reviews do sway my decision on purchasing toys however the key is in the details. Some issues stated are completely unrelated to the product and are a third party issue. Sometimes the reviewer can get off topic and base their review off of shipping which has nothing to do with the product itself. Some times the things one person doesn't like (ex, too soft, or too tight) might be what you're looking for. Good or bad, reviews help out a lot and I'm glad good people take the time out to honestly give their thoughts.

Reviews definitely are a big influence for me here on this site. The reviews here are generally pretty great at describing the toys outside of their product description, especially with the whole pros and cons portion. Especially with the whole pros and cons aspect, even if someone completely enjoys the product they're not afraid to talk about anything wrong or something that might not appeal to others.
No, I generally search for a product first and then read a review, and most usernames I don't really pay attention to. I am just a little more cautious of generally favorable reviews that don't speak too much on the product.
I would definitely check out a community's opinion feature, but I would be a bit worried that it prevents other smaller products from entering the spotlight.

@**ToyDemon** Follow up comment: A general observation I'm seeing with all these comments is basically reviews are generally valued but few if any guys have a favorite reviewer. Partly this could be lack of avatar images (indeed easier to remember than names) but I think it's because we all have different tastes in terms of visual/tunnel/box design that draws us to a particular toy. So if you find a reviewer you like that gave a well written/stellar review for one toy, doens't mean that same reviewer tried/let alone reviewed another one you're looking at later.
The best types of reviewers would be guys who obviously are willing to write reviews in the first place, but are articulate/descriptive about all aspects of the toy and sensation, plus can reasonably compare to other well known toys as reference. Also someone who craves enough sexual variety to want to try/own several, probably well into the double digit number of sleeves as well as someone with the discretionary income to allow for this. Not a lot of guys tick all those boxes.
So yeah you're probably looking at a handful of good guys to be a preferred reviewer(s) to try and cover more bases.
I myself make note of some names I see a lot or that have really helped me, but it's no shock most others (especially newer folks) haven't, even if they still appreciate a good/thorough review.

@**ToyDemon** I had an experience where buying a 4.X star review product and turns out the product does not feel like a 4.X star product to me. So I think it's all come down to personal preference. So I don't think TD review affects my decision that much.
btw, there's an onahole review website, onahodouga, I find my preference more similar to there's, which is somewhat different from reviews here

gapugapu ( 24 )
@**ToyDemon** I'm at the point now where I don't worry too much about reviews. Thing is everyone's experience is subjective, and ultimately a review that boils down to "The toy feels great!" isn't that helpful. I would more often trust the brand/price over reviews, but reading through reviews does help in the final decision. That said, I understand that for someone who hasn't ever had an onahole before that reviews would be very important. When I was newer to the hobby, the most useful reviews were ones that describe the sensations in visceral detail, talk to the durability/quirks of the toy, or make comparisons to other toys in the same price range.

Toy reviews are important to me when I start my research on onaholes. It's honestly an integral part of my search and Toydemon does such a good job with the reviews section (with upvotes and pros and cons).
At this point, I value all reviews and don't have a particular favorite for reviews. I think it is important to have multiple perspectives before buying.

@**ToyDemon** ive found that reviews are the most noteworthy thing when looking at items. personally myself, id like to get around to reviewing everything that ive purchased, i just havent had the time. The best reviewer ive found was a guy going by the name of Knifebro69, he had a youtube channel with nearly a hundred reviews of both onaholes and fleshlights alike, sadly his channel has gotten taken down and all of those videos deleted and has now been relinquished of his affilliate status on this site as well. However ive also found some other useful reviewers such as N7commander who in his toro marshmallow body review showed comparison pictures which really helped me decide what i wanted to buy.
thebigfish69 ( 36 )
@**ToyDemon** yes very important. mainly because it allows me to learn more about the product. theres not really any other way to do so. i'd like reviews to be objective and not have some sort of monetary incentive behind them. i don't have a favorite user to look at for reviews.

@**ToyDemon** Reviews have a huge impact on my decision to buy the product. I would consider buying products with more reviews and a higher rating because I would have a better understanding of what I will be receiving. For example, there are a lot of products on Amazon that look great on the website, but when it arrives it probably looks nothing like the picture and the description. I pretty sure everyone else checks the reviews as well because customers want to know if the other customers have run into any problems or want to know the pros and cons while using the product.
I actually read some reviews I find on the web also, here are some reviewers that I visit often: Inferno Monkey and Onahole.eu.

@**ToyDemon** I think reviews are mostly helpful and always genuine, especially for onaholes and sex toys in general.
Of course, bad reviews don't instantly mean a bad purchase, since toys are a matter of preference, but they can be an indicator of major problems a toy might have. (Often times, I make purchases while disregarding a plethora of negative reviews because it interests me.)

@**ToyDemon** To me, reviews matter to some extent. Reviews are like tools to me. Helps me make better decisions. At the end of the day, you just have to remember that biases exist, and certain things are subjective.
Rather than looking at the score or rating given, I look more towards the feedback itself and what features is or isn't mentioned.

@**ToyDemon** I do read the reviews and ratings of other users, because it helps me make a more informed decision based on the viewpoints of fellow customers like myself. It also lets me see the pros and cons of specific products that a manufacturer may overlook or not mention.

@**ToyDemon** Reviews definitely matter, if the product looks interesting but the reviews mention things that I personally don't like it helps my decision greatly. However I wouldn't say it has to be a "good" review, if Thanos leaves a 1 star review on product x saying it was terrible because it was too tight and short, but he's 3x my size, I still find that helpful because the toy fits perfectly for someone 3x smaller.
I'm new so I don't know many reviewers yet.
I think a group of reviewers could be good, I've seen a decent amount of products that look interesting, but unfortunately no reviews. Also I know you said a section for this community, but I think cross-posting these reviews(if it happens) to reddit could be good too, I know 2 subs that are popular that I recently used before coming here.

@**ToyDemon** I’m kind of in between the “so-so”, and “important”. There are definitely some things that matter like QC, ease of cleaning etc. But when it comes down to how much people enjoy something, the variations in reviews can be huge so I take that specific part with a grain of salt. I think Tomax’s rich-soft products are a perfect example of this. I think it would be more important to say what it feels like, opposed to how much it is enjoyed. I try to be as descriptive as possible whenever I review so even if I don’t like something, somebody else might take interest in a quality that I personally didn’t enjoy. Thanks for taking the time to read this.

@**ToyDemon** After getting into the hobby, peoples reviews on ona types has impacted my purchases. My first purchase was heavily weighted upon reviews because I didn't know the typing and textures. With peoples judgment and experience it has shaped my purchase. After getting the product I can understand the reviewers and thank them for the purchases. More reviews on a product can help because the reputation of the toy is important and people with opinions help with decisions to buy or not. People who review their purchases, so be it negative or good, they're doing a service for me as a indecisive buyer.

@**ToyDemon** Reviews certainly do matter to me because with toys it's quite a gamble since you're unable to do anything with the product if you happen to not enjoy it. I usually also read reviews on other sites due to some products not having as much reviews.

1. Yup, reviews matter. You definitely cant judge a book by its cover here, and at around 50+ each, trying a plethora gets pricey fast.
2. No favorites, but I like a dichotomy of funny and brutal honesty in the reviews.
3. Do it, the more product info available the better.

I can ask myself if I really want whatever I'm looking at, just in general. I'm very new to onaholes and masturbaitors, so reviews from other people helps even more with the information side of things. Will this send me to a whole other world or am I just gonna be disappointed and go back to my hand.
I haven't been here long enough to point out anything specific, but I could say everyone is my favorite. We're all here for the same reason after all.
A reliable review under an item would be pretty great, maybe even something to promote more reviews for products.

While I don't have any specific favourite members, reviews are incredibly important to me, especially with regards to onas. Since they aren't exactly a "try-before-you-buy" type of product, what others have to say about a particular one is the best information that one can go off of in making a judgment as to whether they'll purchase it or not.

Reviews on ToyDemon are really helpful, mostly because they are all from genuine people. I feel like the website is small enough that you don't get fake reviews often if at all. The people reviewing are generally really detailed on the pros and cons, which makes it much easier to decide. I also look on google to find blogs that review onaholes as well. However, there isn't any specific users that I follow on ToyDemon for their reviews, but if I see a high like rating, I can assume that person gives great advice/reviews.
Nothing is more demoralizing than spending money on an onahole, then getting one or two uses because you didn't like it. I usually wait on new items to get enough reviews before deciding whether to buy or not. I made a pre-order once and was sorely disappointed by the performance. I think it's great that ToyDemon is thinking about making a dedicated group of reviewers to help.

Reviews matter when they're super low or mention something off putting. If I'm deciding between products, they matter only to a certain point. After that, I choose based on personal preference.
I don't follow specific members, but reviews with pictures help a ton. I have used blogs in the past where they do in depth reviews to help guide me, but I don't follow specific members.
As far as a review member section goes, split it by toy type. Usually I know what kind of toy I want to buy and I would really like to see the ley of the land, so to speak. I'd really find that useful.

@**ToyDemon** . Please forgive me if I'm "trying to reinvent the wheel". When it comes to reviews I look for key words (good/bad) and most of the time they also appear in the "pro and cons" section. To encourage more input from the community I purpose a more streamline method that would take a few minutes to complete.
1. Click on "review this item" to get started.
2. A dialogue box would open.
3. Overall rating one to five stars
4. Q. Which characteristics do you like about this toy? (click all that apply)
Box Art__Visual Appearance__Price__Sensation__Simulation__Suction__Material__Easy to Clean__Quality Control__For Guys:Short__Mid__Long__Durability__Lack of Smell__Tight__Quiet__
5. Q. Which characteristics didn't like about this toy? (click all that apply)
Box Art__Visual Appearance__Price__Lack of:Sensation__Simulation__Suction__Material: too hard__too soft__Length: too small__too long__ Durability__Has smell__Attracts Dust__Challenge to clean__Loose__Loud__Dries out or leaks lube__
6. Missing any details...add comments below.
(for details missing or for those folks who want to leave a more detailed review).
The star rating and the characteristics clicked on with each review could be complied to help folks make additional toy considerations. Most reviewers liked toy A for (Visual Appearance, Simulation, Long) or toy B for (Tightness, suction, short).
I feel that if we can make the review process just quicker and easier more and more folks would get involved and it would benefit all of us going forward. Thanks.

Reviews matter greatly for me. The average score is important but reading a few reviews from each score rating helps me understand what is possible out of the product I buy. A large amount of fake reviews makes me want to have nothing to do with the seller as it says to me they have something to hide and that their product must not actually be up to par. This doesn't happen here but, as was stated, happens rampant on places like Amazon.
There is no one in particular who I read reviews from on here but I like the idea of having a recommended user as long as any benefits thy recieve is plainly stated.

I take Geezer’s reviews as gospel. We have similar specs in terms of sensitivity, size, and preferences. So if he doesn’t like how something feels on his Johnson as much as the Meiki Ozawa, I skip it. Unfortunately, not all products are reviewed by Geezer, so I try to find a review where the user is very sensitive, like myself to see if the product is too firm or rough for my liking.

@**ToyDemon** The reviews I see on each product here definitely helps with my buying decisions. Like many others have said, most reviews on here made by posters feel pretty genuine and really gives varying opinions and perspectives on each product. Which is absolutely fantastic because obviously everyone has different experiences and preferences, but it is nice to know and hear them from a real person when making your purchasing decision.
I have not looked for any certain member's review before a purchase, although it might be interesting for members to have some "recommended or favourite" products on their profiles/blogs should they wish to have any. If you know that person has similar preferences to you, you may be likely to checkout recommendations and favourite products from them.
But overall I think the biggest factor that makes buying here unique is the number of various seemingly genuine and detailed opinions/feedback from the reviews of members, each of which gives a different perspective and consideration for when you're browsing for your next purchase.

@**ToyDemon** Reviews definitely play a role in choosing a toy. It helps a lot with the indecision I face. I am usually bouncing around like 5+ toys and the reviews help me whittle it down to which one or two I will get. If a member drops some knowledge or has a some key words I'm looking for I absolutely check out their reviews for other toys, having a recommended section would be LEGIT.

@**ToyDemon** The reviews on this site matter to my decision-making. With a lot of products, it's generally true that the more you spend, the better the product is. But because onaholes are so extremely subjective, reviews hold more weight when I decide what to buy-- if a reviewer can describe exactly how the onahole feels and what exact places it stimulates, then I can more readily gauge how I'd feel about it. But Toydemon reviews aren't the end-all be-all for me, especially since not many people write reviews for the lesser-known onaholes. I'm more inclined to follow the blogs of specific onahole reviewers I trust because it's more reliable to follow the known-quantity that is a specific reviewer (where I already know how much I agree with them and whom I already know is extremely experienced with onaholes) rather than a small assortment of random reviews and reviewers.
The only reviewer I really recognized and followed on this site was BillyBurn because he seemed like a Tomax expert. I saw that he tried out many Tomax onaholes in varying levels of softness, so I checked all his reviews so I could know which Tomax toy to get in what softness. My next Tomax purchases will be based on his reviews (I'll be getting the Kokalo rich soft).

Reviews are so-and-so. I do draw a lot from them if I am unsure about the product, but if it is a product I want just by looking at it, then I won't even look at the reviews.

It's always the images of the products that catch my attention first. Then the reviews are what help me finalize my decision.
I don't have any particular person I follow on ToyDemon, but there are reviewers out there with their own websites that I follow. I read both their reviews and the reviewers on this website.
I am interested in this community recommend/favorites, but I would also like to know the staff's review.

@**ToyDemon** I always prefer a product with reviews to one without but i also don't always let reviews drive my decision if the product only has one or two as i've gotten some lesser rated items with one review and enjoyed them well enough from toydemon and did not see the problems posed by the review itself. I do not have any specific member i look for when looking at reviews.
Capybara ( 36 )
@**ToyDemon** The reviews here are very useful since they come from actual people using the toys.
It would be a good idea to have certain members of the community rate the onaholes, especially for the softness and odor. These are very important factors for my purchase.

Do reviews matter to you when making a purchase on ToyDemon.com? Why or why not?
Yes, onaholes are a significant purchase. When returns for these kind of products are impossible, I want to know the general opinion of the quality so I'm not wasting money on something I'm going to be unsatisfied with.
Also do you have some favorite certain member(s) that you always read their reviews on ToyDemon before you make a purchase? If so who?
Not anyone in particular, but people who have multiple reviews are favorable to those who don't.

@**ToyDemon** They certainly matter more here because I have (at least believe) I have reason to trust the reviewers. That they will know (no everyone, which is also useful because everyone is here has a particular goal and helping others is part of that, imo). Reviews matter more here than just about any other retailer because don't know anything about brands, materials, textures, etc.
I've still purchased products with no reviews and certainly was happy, so it's not everything and a few negative reviews on durability don't necessarily dissuade me. It's always going to be difficult to understand exactly what the product and experience will be no matter how well someone explains it (forget about comparing to other models, no clue there)
Nope, not super great with names. I like in depth reviews and reading various perspectives on the same product.
I'd be interested to read that

@**ToyDemon** I find reviews pretty useful, most of my decisions are based off of my personal interest but reviews do help, especially if I'm about to spend on something big. Good reviews can justify my purchase while bad ones will probably mean that I should stay away no matter how interesting it seems. If it is below a 3 star rating it is already enough to inform me that a specific product isn't worth it. Now if it is a 5 star review with 21 reviews for example, that is quite eye catching.
As for specific reviewers, I tend to not notice that. The newer products don't have many reviewers after all. So a dedicated section specifically for the reviewing of new products will be quite useful for me.

@**ToyDemon** Reviews are definitely important to me. They help me decide if getting an onahole is the right decision in the long run. I try to look for reviews on durability, experience, and flaws for each product. Of course everyone has a different opinion, but they all help me better decide when making a purchase.

@**ToyDemon** Do reviews matter to you when making a purchase on ToyDemon.com? Why or why not?
Generally I have to be very interested in a product to get it without any reviews. But those that do have reviews I'm mostly interested in if they answer questions or concerns I have.
Also do you have some favorite certain member(s) that you always read their reviews on ToyDemon before you make a purchase? If so who?
No, I've seen a few member that review many products but whether or not they review it or not doesn't change my decision.
I think a selected top review is a good idea. Some reviews give very valuable information and not just "it good, get it" or "not my type". The most upvoted and oldest review isn't usually the most valuable one.
edit: I also wanted to add that it seems like the product question section is underutilized. It would help if top questions answered by verified buyers was also very visible along with top reviews.

Reviews matter to me on Toydemon. In general, I try to be an informed consumer, but especially when making more expensive purchases, and onaholes generally aren't cheap. That being said, if there is product that interests me that doesn't have reviews, I'm willing to try it.
I've noticed a few frequent reviewers on the site such as Geezer and N7Commander (I'm assuming that name is a Mass Effect reference), although I wouldn't say I try to read reviews from any members in particular. Onaholes, because of their sexual nature, can be pretty subjective, and in the case of the members I've mentioned as well as others, there have been toys they've liked that I didn't, and vice versa. I just try to gauge from the reviews, pictures and product description if a toy has certain qualities that I would like.

@**ToyDemon** Reviews definitely play a factor when deciding what to buy. No particular reviewer comes to mind, but good description of user experience helps give a better idea of what i'm getting. Sometimes toy descriptions exagerate and don't do the product right.

@**ToyDemon** abso-freaking-lutly. no reviews likely means either disapointed user, or little interest in the features of a product.
I read a blog called "infernal monkey" (he reviews many of the products here, and is hilarious to boot) for similar reasons, I want first-hand accounts of the experience for a product.

@**ToyDemon** Reviews definitely matter to me, but mostly they just confirm from other reviews or comments on other websites (Reddit, YouTube, blogs etc.) If there's a product that I've never seen, and see it has low reviews, that would definitely put me off for sure, vice versa for lots of high reviews!
I'm not sure if they're active here, but 'Mike in CO' from Reddit frequently orders from ToyDemon and they are very well known for their onaholes/fleshlight reviews and tips there. They've definitely helped me which choices like getting the Meiki ZXY and other toys!

They sure do! A good description of the experience plays heavily on my decision to purchase as well as accurate product dimensions/depth and visual x-rays of the products interior.
Also do you have some favorite certain member(s) that you always read their reviews on ToyDemon before you make a purchase? If so who?
No.
We are thinking of maybe doing a favorite/recommended review member section in community in which these members would write a review on new products to help others make their decision.
I don't really like this idea.

Reviews matter quite a lot to me. There have been toys that looked interesting with no reviews that ended up disappointing. If I waited a few months then a review would pop up that had similar complaints. I not too worried about paid reviews since all the products are overseas.
To the other questions I haven't really recognized any reviewers and their history of products. If one reviewer says they rated other toys higher I've gotten interested and check out their review history, but that's the extent of it.

@**ToyDemon** I mostly look for reviews that highlight the maintenance, feel, and quality of the product.
For maintenance, I want to know whether the product is hard to clean. Will I need special tools to clean it, is it a hassle to do, and does it take a while?
With feel, I am interested if they enjoyed it or not. I care about whether the toy felt hard or soft, how rigid is the skeletal structure or the toy, and how tight the toy is.
Finally for the quality, will the toy break down after introducing it to my pecker.
If it were possible, I would like how other people compare their purchases.

1.Reviews heavily impact my decision on purchasing a product. If the product has multiple good reviews then I'll keep that item on my mind but if there a plenty of 1 or 2 star reviews I give the product a read first to see if their problem was a personal one or if the product was really that bad. I've given a few reviews myself and I try to be as straight forward as possible with how I describe the product I bought.
2.I don't have favorite certain members that leave reviews but if I do see a name pop up more than once I take it that they know what their talking about most of the time.
3. I think that if you are the first person to make a review on the product they should get some more reward points than normal since they were the one who took the risk on the new product which could have ended up in a hit or miss review.

@**ToyDemon** I need the reviews.
I very much base my decision on reviews around here, particularly if the reviewer includes their member size. Really helps to narrow down my choices of toys that I should realistically get. As for favorite members, I haven't really looked at specific people. If they had a list of toys reviewed next to their name, I may give them more weight.

Most definitely. Some products look like they might be amazing and from a good company but as we all know not all companies make a good product 100% of the time. @**ToyDemon** I don't usually trust reviews on sites like amazon. So many of them are useless fake 5-star jargon paid for by the product producer, but the reviews on toydemon are very obviously written by real people with opinions I trust. I feel this way because they've proven to be accurate on every purchase I've ever made on here. I've taken chances on products with medium reviews and they were so-so as expected. The same has gone for highly reviewed items.
I don't have any favorite reviewers, but I respect anyone who takes the time to write a long and detailed review. I think a recommended reviewer system would be amazing, especially for a site like this.

Do reviews matter to you when making a purchase on ToyDemon.com? Why or why not?
Reviews help, but sometimes I will buy things with no or bad reviews because it appeals to me. I've had experiences of hating some highly reviewed products and loving some no-names. However, if I can see all reviewers say "durability is bad" I probably won't bother with that product since that's something that affected everyone and I probably won't be an exception. I agree with others that people's preference for hard/soft onaholes should be included in their profile, this way we can gauge their praises or gripes according to our own tastes.
Also do you have some favorite certain member(s) that you always read their reviews on ToyDemon before you make a purchase? If so who?
Don't follow or have any favorites as I usually don't pay attention to names. If Toydemon wanted to make people remember reviewers, give us an option for image avatars. People remember pictures much better than names.

@**ToyDemon** I find the reviews very helpful. If something has bad or no reviews then I know to steer clear. If it has good reviews then it's something to look over. As for favorite reviewer, don't really have one because I'm new here. But knifebro69 and Mike from Colorado from reddit are good people.

@**ToyDemon** On the poll I chose "So So" because reviews do not matter to me as much as a good description, and of all the onahole sites, ToyDemon has the best descriptions and has a lot of photos that help me determine if I will like a toy or not. I do not have a particularly favorite reviewer on this site but I do look up reviews on as many websites I can find for a specific item. I do not care if ToyDemon reviews their own items as long as there are a lot of photos and videos with a thorough description that do not look overly edited or photoshopped. I do not expect everyone to have the same niche as mine for everything.

@**ToyDemon** So far Reviews have decided everything for me. Unlike other sites and distributors, this place has some of the best communities I've seen. These monthly polls, the forums, and customer reviews/feedback has made this site a regular for me. Heck, I visit this place a lot just to read interesting things and advice from others (even if I'm not buying anything). On the last giveaway someone commented on my post about toilet paper shortage being one of the worst things of this pandemic. He said on the next global disaster, go to an auto parts store and get RV toilet paper. They usually have that in stock but no one thinks of going there.

@**ToyDemon** I believe when it comes to buying a toy the reviews make or break a purchase. I’ve never had a toy for myself and the wife wanted me to get one so my journey began. After doing a lot of research I decided on an ona hole. Then I tried to find the best place to buy one and found toydemon, this site was one of the few sites that had reviews but the reviews on toydemon are second to none. With some people even posting there dimensions and giving honest pluses and minuses for each toy meant there wasn’t another place where I was going to buy a toy.
I also think having a favorite/recommended reviewer system would be perfect. Many of these reviewers put a lot of work and their experiences into their reviews which is just incredible. And it would be nice to know if there is someone that I trust reviewing a product I’m interested in and has already researched it.
I really hope you do go with this idea because it would help so much with my future purchases.

@**ToyDemon** Well, Yeah I kind that will like to see other people's Opinions, to see if the Item's the I'm planning to buy are good enough of Worth the price, in the other cases like pre-order or items the just released this may not apply cuz The Items already got my Opinion regardless bof the Reason

Reviews are definitely useful because having other peoples opinions on an item can help me decide if the item is right for me. Comments about the material feel, durability and even production flaws you wouldn’t know about can help me save my money for something better.
I am not familiar with any certain members, but the general idea is to see what type of review a person writes such as only saying “it was bad” with no real detail or someone who provides a whole checklist of positives and negatives. The like amount next to a users name also helps me decide if a review is worth taking seriously.

To me reviews matter when I am looking at things to buy here, I'd like to know what other people think of the product and what to expect if I do purchase it.

For me, reviews are necessary to make a purchase.
I feel that they add critical context. They let me know hard-to-measure stuff like how stimulating the texture is and how durable the product has been.
Currently, I don't look for fake reviews on this website because it is much smaller than Amazon.
However, it would be handy to mark some reviewers as my favorites. I'd pick people who seem to share my preferences and anatomy and give their words more weight.
As it stands, I do not look out for any names in particular. I'll just skim through all of the reviews for a product, provided there are less than 20.

I tend toward the lighter side of skepticism.
I played the game Lord of The Rings the third Age about two years after it came out because I had a Playstation magazine say it was just like Final Fantasy X except there were zero ways to heal out of combat. I was a teenager and I absolutely didn't believe I could play a game so similar to Final Fantasy without healing. I had already beaten all the Final Fantasy games up to this point without great builds because I was a kid, but no healing? No way!
A year goes by my best friend gets the game on sale and within 25 minutes I learn you can absolutely heal outside of combat! I don't remember 100% if it was consumable items or skills but we could heal! Not only that but you could assign a second controller for different characters in the party and we played that game twice through over a Christmas break.
This brings me back to the question at hand do reviews matter? Absolutely, however I always go for a second opinion, just because one person has an awful experience doesn't mean my own will be. If one person can't crank one out with an onahole that doesn't mean immediately stop me from wanting to try, but I'll check other reviews first and if it's fairly consistent then I'll usually go with the reviews unless it's something I'm really interested in.
As for reviewers on here, Dilly12 was super helpful on my first purchase though, so thank you Dilly12!
Also fuck you Official Playstation Magazine you sucked for reviews. That game was gold, except the final boss took us an hour to figure out.

Reviews matter when i'm going to make a purchase. The information on the packaging is sometimes not enough when trying to gauge the ona. Things like product longevity, sensation, and time investment in cleaning can only be described by buyers/reviewers. For now, this community is so small that fake reviews don't seem like it is an issue. That being said less descriptive reviews are not that helpful. descriptions like size vs sensation are the best kind of review because it allows a better idea of how it will fit your own body ,but these reviews are rare in between.
There aren't any favorite reviewers since there aren't many people that review the same brand of products, probably due to the nature of how you need to review them.

Without a doubt reviews do matter when considering an onahole. I love this website's review system where I can see quickly the pros and cons of the toy with a quick glance and consider if the pros outweigh the cons. This is so great as it makes shopping easier and faster knowing what to expect. In fact, I subconsciously avoid things that don't have reviews no matter how interested I am in the product as a preconscious measure to losing money on something I won't like.
I don't pay attention to names but do pay attention to the pros and cons and alot of the time if the toy is good, the pros and cons will be very similar giving an accurate representation on what the onahole will be like.

Do reviews matter to you when making a purchase on ToyDemon.com? Why or why not?
Answer: Reviews only matter to me when it's thorough, I feel like it's a legit review when a person is pointing out all aspects of the item good and bad. It's not the deciding factor if I buy something but it certainly helps me get an idea of what I will get if I do order it.
Also do you have some favorite certain member(s) that you always read their reviews on ToyDemon before you make a purchase? If so who?
Answer: I have honestly never paid attention to the name of the reviewer, only the quality of the review.

Reviews are easily one of the most important factors in buying products on the expensive side. Usually if a product is under $100 I am much more willing to take the hit and risk of no reviews. Above that, reviews are more important so I know I am not spending too much carelessly. The $100 price point is a bit arbitrary, but it's important to set that point for how much money I am personally willing to spend for a product I am very interested in VS. a product which seems like it SHOULD be good.
I feel much more trusting of reviews in a community like this. ToyDemon has never done anything (at least that I know of) that would warrant my suspicion of fake reviews. When people are spending money on products based on pleasure, people should not have a reason to lie.
There are many reviews here too that are vague, and sometimes simple one liners. Those are the type of reviews that mean nothing to me, but they can't be avoided when there is a point reward system for posting reviews. That isn't a real problem to me because I also take a moment to read reviews, not just look at the overall rating. The difference between honest and at least somewhat thoughtful reviews and the reviews just for the points is glaringly obvious.
I don't have anyone one person's reviews that I like to read.
I still think it would be pretty great to have a featured/favourite/recommended review members. These people should be picked out carefully based on previous reviews and their quality of content. I think it would be very helpful.

@**ToyDemon** Reviews are very important on TD. The info I need is it soft or hard, Loose or tight, Size, and Durability. People's experience with it is very helpful. I write enough reviews to know that TD is not our here offering me free goodies to put out 5 star reviews.

Reviews are very important to me, especially with sex toys. With the company's description of any toy, it's very hard to choose any toy. For example, Fleshlight and every other company all say the same thing about their toy, e.g how realistic it is, other times how good it feels. I can't tell the difference between toys just by reading the description. However, after a few purchases on Amazon, I had an enlightenment. I can't trust the reviews on Amazon either. It was by chance that I was reading a post last year on Toydemon forum ( posted in 2014-2015) that the most realistic sex toy was a Tomax Real and Lilith Uterus. I decided to google search for reviews and landed upon a review on thecasquesterofiles.com about Tomax Venus Real. It literally sold me the toy. Nowadays, I do look at reviews on Toydemon and reviews posted on Reddit and other websites(not on Amazon), and seeing that Tomax Venus Real Soft has one of the highest ratings, I still believe Toydemon has accurate reviews on their websites.

Reviews shouldn't just be used to determine whether you get a product or not. I think looking at the stars on a review to get the general gist of a product is fine but everyone is different on what they want in an onahole so I usually want to read through all the reviews carefully first to see what they have to say. If the product fits what I want, I will consider purchasing it. In terms of a favorite reviewer, I don't particularly have one but sometimes I use onahole review sites like Infernal Monkey to help me get a more in-depth look into the products.

@**ToyDemon** Reviews definitely matter to me. For me, its a good way to judge a product by seeing what the majority of other customers like/dislike about it. Its hard to judge a product through pictures alone and I've definitely had times where I regret taking a chance on a product that had no reviews. I find that many reviewers leave a great amount of useful information in their reviews and that I've been able to discover items other customers have recommended that I would not have normally considered otherwise. Most of my favorite products were from recommendations that I saw while reading reviews.
I can't say i have a favorite member since I like trying a variety of different products and haven't really recognized a specific member that consistently appears in comments section.

>>>Do reviews matter to you when making a purchase on ToyDemon.com? Why or why not?
Yes, they do. Especially if it's a brand I haven't bought anything from before, reviews for any given item help to give me an idea of what to expect and whether or not it's worth spending the money. I'm usually pretty leery of unreviewed items, because I rely on them to take the temperature of an item's quality, so even if it's something I've been looking forward to, if it's unreviewed, I'll either wait until someone has reviewed it or try and look up reviews on other websites. That's a bit harder on items that are exclusive to ToyDemon, though, as few as those might be.
That's how I do things on other websites, too. Admittedly, maybe I shouldn't trust some of those so much if positive reviews can be bought like that, but that's a bit of a catch 22, isn't it? If you trust the reviews and they're lies, then you've bought something that wasn't as advertised or shouldn't have been reviewed so positively, but if you don't trust the reviews, then you're buying something basically sight unseen, so you have no way of judging its quality before it arrives.
>>>Also do you have some favorite certain member(s) that you always read their reviews on ToyDemon before you make a purchase? If so who?
Uh...
How to put this delicately... I'm not overly familiar with the community on ToyDemon, so every reviewer has equal weight, to me. Wait, scratch that, reverse it. The more detailed a review is, the more I'm likely to trust it, so members who write longer reviews tend to get more trust from me as a matter of course. I'm not cross-referencing names or anything, though. I just prefer to have as complete a picture as I can before I take the metaphorical plunge.
Trying to keep up with so many different communities can be a bit tiresome, too. In the end, I'm on ToyDemon to buy stuff, not to make friends, so I haven't put any effort into reaching out to anyone here. That sounds a bit asocial, doesn't it? It can't be helped. Plus, it's a little embarrassing to discuss this sort of thing directly.

@**ToyDemon** Reviews will help me get an idea about the product's quality if I'm not familiar with the brand. If I know the brand and have used their products in the past I would be more inclined to buy it even if there are few reviews/ mixed reviews. I don't have the same uncertainty with products on this site as I do with some stuff on Amazon because of all the 3rd party sellers and cheap off-brand stuff floating around the Amazon site.

Reviews definitely are important. I've had bad experiences on other sites like this that didn't have reviews. Without reviews, it's pretty much a complete crapshoot, and there's no way to tell a good product from a bad one. Reviews are the reason I use this site over your competitors. Reviews might not guarantee the product is good, but it can almost entirely guarantee the product isn't absolutely terrible. This is especially true for something like sex toys manufactured from a country I've never been to. Reviews can be manipulated and faked on places like Amazon, but for things like sex toys, the market is so fragmented and there are so many different marketplaces to buy sex toys that it's not worth it to fake reviews, because you'd need to do it on dozens of different sites.

@**ToyDemon** Reviews do matter for me, especially for these kinds of products. Here's the thing, we don't really have that many fake reviews on these kinds of products... yet...
Once male masturbation products become more and more adopted, we'll probably start seeing more and more fake reviews, but until then I will still put a lot of importance in reviews because these onaholes are quite pricey.
Even though every guy out there has a different penis and differences to how, it is still good to know an approximation to how these holes will feel because there is for sure no refunds or exchanges happening. So once you buy it and don't like it, you're out quite a bit of money, only to have to buy another one and drop even more money! That's why I put a lot of importance in toy reviews, it helps gives me an approximation and lets me know, especially if several reviewers say it feels bad/bland/etc., to avoid and go with another product.
I don't have any favorite reviewer, but I do think if you have a few people do trusted and consistent reviews, that'll be great for the community. Just try to have reviewers of all sizes, because if all your reviewers are big dick hunks, you're basically alienating all your small dick members. Hope you keep that in mind and hope you guys are able to come up with something great!

@**ToyDemon** Reviews always matter to me, whether it's here on Toydemon or on other websites, since they help me decide if it's worth considering a product. Reviews are subjective so I think it's important to find a reliable reviewer with similar preferences to myself. This is why I appreciate those who include comparisons to other toys they liked or disliked and why in their reviews.
I rarely pay attention to names of reviewers so I don't have a favorite.

Reviews definitely matter to me when purchasing here on ToyDemon.com, and I take them into account. The reason why is because most people do have a sense of "quality" when using a product. However, reviews are very subjective most of the time and always fall in some kind of bias. In the case of sex toys, this makes it even more unreliable because everyone has different preference of feelings and sensations when it comes to masturbation, so it can be very hard to compare products without you actually trying them out in the first place. Things like sensitivity, your dick size, sleeve design, intensity or specific kinks/fetishes are factors that you really can't compare properly because they are very personal for each individual, what feels great for someone, might not feel great for you, what feels hard for someone, might me too soft for you, and so on. What I usually look for on sex toys reviews here on ToyDemon.com is: build quality, durability, ease of cleanup, price and if it's a best seller (this last one is the best indicator that you are buying something worth it) since all these things remain consistent for most sex toys and can be compared easily between products. Things like internals design and sensation I just go for my personal preference.
I really don't have a member who's reviews I always look up to, I usually just scroll down reading most reviews to get an overall idea of the product, but there's Knifebro69. This guy used to make sex toys reviews on YouTube, but not anymore, his channel got deleted for "violating" the rules, so now he's on reddit. Knifebro69 makes goods reviews and has tested a lot of products, I like how he tries to be as unbiased as possible and fair, he has helped a lot making sure I buy something good. I think he is also affiliated with ToyDemon and has claim how good the website is. Is thanks to him that I discovered onaholes after trying out fleshlight and I'm very happy now because I prefer onaholes much more.

Reviews are something that I believe you shouldn't overlook. I believe it's something that you can (kinda) tell which ones are actual reviews and which ones aren't. I usually look at reviews before making the decision, if the product has any reviews at all. I can be pretty picky in what I want coming from the toys I purchase. Most reviews (at least on toy demon) are pretty honest, although half of the time they don't really help in decision making. Some can be very detailed, which I really do appreciate from the person who reviewed it. Other reviews are rather bland, or vague and don't really explain, or expand on what the toy lacks or has achieved.
I don't exactly heed attention to who posted the reviews for products. I more or less use the reviews as a decision making tool. Sorry everyone. I don't pay attention a lot lmao. Any who, I do appreciate those who do put reviews on products

Do reviews matter to you when making a purchase on ToyDemon.com? Why or why not?
Yes! It's good to get someone else's perspective especially someone who owns the toy because they may give insight on things that you could've overlooked and either pushes you to purchase or pass on the toy.
Also do you have some favorite certain member(s) that you always read their reviews on ToyDemon before you make a purchase? If so who?
No, I'm not familiar with any specific reviewer.

A lot of product on Amazon are only sold there and most of them are not brand product. Looking at reviews is important, especially 1 star reviews. I know some of bad reviews are not the fault of the product or service, but when most of bad reviews are talking about same thing, I need to be careful because that might be true. Also, reviews sometimes have image and videos, helps me know more about it.
With respect to ToyDemon, I feel that you can find reviews from other website like forum of most of ToyDemons's stock. An important assumption is that ToyDemon is not selling fake stuff (I know ToyDemon does not do this). You can collect tons of idea and comments from both ToyDemon and other place. I agree that people would have different feeling, but once you found enough comments, you would get a pretty comprehensive view the a product, and finally make an expectation and decision.

Do reviews matter? Absolutely! The more reviews the better feedback other TD members can get about a product. And the more detailed the review, the more objective it usually is. I read all reviews for the products that I'm interested in and they definitely affect whether I'll make a pruchase or not.
I don't check who writes them and it doesn't matter to me. Therefore I don't have favorite review writers.

@**ToyDemon** Reviews totally matter. That's a good point to bring up that at least in a more mainstream site like Amazon that some reviews can be fake or 'bought'. But I don't really expect to run into that on here. But reviews definitely help point me to some products more than others and give me an idea of sensation, softness, durability etc etc. Its' especially helpful for those bigger/more expensive items like breasts and hips to get the best send eof what you're buying. Admittedly we all have different likes and preferences, it's not fool proof. I have definitely bought a few Ona Holes that had generally favorable or glowing reviews and they left me personally underwhelmed. But live and learn. I try and look for trends.... if reviewers are mostly praising or complaining about a specific thing or feature on the toy, I take note. If its seems more mixed then I go with my gut and look at the pictures of the tunnel and maybe price point to decide. It's all one can do to make an informed decision on one of the few products that- if not satisfied, you certainly can't return!
As to fav members.... BillyBurn had some great comparative info on the Tomax sleeves. Geezer I see a lot.. I always look for his 'Dreamy' approval on some ona holes. N7Commander, DaPonyBoy, and fluffyshortsguy are names a I see a lot and I generally look to their options a little more than the others though to be honest, a good well written review is welcome and appreciated by anyone. If MikeFromCO and knifebro69 are on here under those names (I usually see their post son reddit) then they get big shout outs for not only reviews but lots of great general perspective, advice on male sex toys. Overall I feel like this is a pretty helpful community!

I like to treat reviews the same manner that Captain Barbarossa treats the pirate code. Onahole reviews are more of what I call guidelines than actual rules. I don’t let reviews control what I buy, just like I don’t let reviews and recommendations on food, music, or my health dictate how to live. At the same time, I’m not so arrogant to just ignore all that information and take it into consideration when making a purchase.
I’m sure I’ve said this before but onahole reviews can be a mixed bag due to contradicting statements on softness, tightness, and stimulation, due in turn to differences in sensitivity, preferences, size of member, and the individual’s cut or uncut condition. I tend to look for keywords in reviews, both for what I enjoy and, especially, for what I do not, so as to stay away from those products. If possible, I do as much research as I can to get an idea of what to expect. Even then, good reviews can still send us astray. A five-star, over 20 positive reviews product, can still be a disappointment to your personal taste and enjoyable stroking needs. On that same boat, I found products with no reviews or even with only bad reviews that I absolutely loved after a little bit of creative ingenuity. One man’s trash is another man’s treasure I suppose.
In short; Do reviews matter to you when making a purchase on ToyDemon.com? Yes and no. Yes, it’s nice to have multiple first-hand accounts so as to know what to expect and feel confident that my purchase will be a good one. And no, it does not matter because, in the end, I purchase products based on multiple factors and what I personally find pleasurable or, what new textures I what to try out next, good, bad, or no reviews be damned.
Oh, and no, I don’t have a reviewer that I always read reviews from.

@**ToyDemon** Generally the reviews help tremendously in deciding a potential purchase. Durability of material and feeling are what I look for. Reading through paragraphs of well-written essays is quite entertaining and sways my opinion in either direction. Their claims, however, need to be reasonable explaining exactly why they feel the way they do. It would do us a great service if there is a place where the review gods may grace upon us a nugget of gold, if they so please, informing us fellow plebeians in our times of need.

@**ToyDemon** Reviews definitely help in my decision making. I usually check the negative reviews or the cons section of positive reviews to see if the downsides will be a deal breaker or not. Or I'll use the reviews to compare multiple products and hopefully buy the best one.

Reviews are hard to gauge since everyone has different things they're looking for and different situations. However, it's information from fellow customers and consumers so it's helpful to see what people think from the same perspective. Reviews with pictures help me get a better look at the actual product and visually see if the product is being sold as advertised. On ToyDemon.com, they are really helpful because if there are reviews, people will have a general consensus on the product with small differences.
I don't quite have a favorite but when browsing, I see a few names do multiple reviews like anuna, HoleyOne and Unknown, who each review things rather differently but say similar things. They each give a recommendation and do not try to persuade fellow consumers, but rather feed them suggestions in their reviews. I want to review any product I get from ToyDemon because I feel the need to share knowledge and help people better make decisions.

Reviews matter to me, especially negative reviews. A good ona can have as much 5 star reviews as it deserves, but maybe there's one niche about it that will make it difficult for me to enjoy. In that case, the single 3 star review on a 4.7 rating ona can make all the difference.
I don't have a certain member whose reviews I always read, but I think a recommended review member section in the community might be a good idea although it may come with its own problems as well. For someone in the community, I think that reviews would often be more informative when they're done as a hobby rather than as an obligation. I think it could be done well, but it's definitely something that would require some thought.
Maybe something like short staff reviews for new products could help...? (review pages on new products that give us more detailed pictures and descriptions than the product dimensions that you normally find on the sale page)

Because the same toy can feel very different for every person, I don't rely heavily on comments here to help me make my decisions. There're a lot of reviewers out there and they go over a lot of products, I have a couple of websites saved for this, if one toy or a brand is especially great it will stand out or mentioned by all reviewers and generally I can ensure it won't be a bad purchase, but also this doesn't guarantee it suits my likings.
I don't take notice of the commenter's user name when looking over the reviews, after all he's not me, and chances are we'll experience a toy differently. I do however take notice if someone made a thorough report about a toy, like hardness, ease of cleaning, length, smell, or other parameters that are less subjective.

Reviews definitely matter. I have a group of idiots who keep emailing me trying to get me to participate in their paid reviews on Amazon scam. Real reviews are very good at helping determine if something you're interested in is worth buying at full price, or waiting for a sale/deal. Or if you should move on to another toy instead.

@**ToyDemon** I tend to look toward reviews for things, but usually by looking more towards the 2-4 star reviews since they tend to be more honest in Amazon's case, unless there is a overwhelming number of 1 stars. Other than that I'm definitely more of the type to look into things I buy on my own and use reviews only to supplement that..
As for certain members I can't really think of any in particular but as for the site as a whole I do like the fact that the reviews are much more genuine so they do feel more worth listening to, but I do have to take into account we all have preferences for these type of things so a 1 star review here won't necessarily mean a total no-go but I will more likely keep it in mind.

@**ToyDemon** 1. I'm the odd one out here. I'll read reviews but I'll usually buy things I'm interested in regardless, especially if the review is for a softer Onahole as it seems most people have a much higher threshold for what counts as stimulating.
2. I don't really have a member who I see around a whole lot who I actually really enjoy the reviews of, but I don't see too many regular reviewers pop up on multiple products anyway, especially newer ones.

When it comes to shopping anywhere: the more information you collect before purchasing, the better that purchase is just before you make that decision to buy it - even if it's something you buy repeatedly.
The trend that you've mentioned about Amazon is nothing really new in the commercial world, and the fakespot.com reaction-type information isn't new either; its just more information for consumers to deal with. There is nothing new under the sun, so they say.
With that said, the reviews I find here on TD help influence my buying decisions allot, especially because the products here are unique, and a community of it's own is developing. This very forum is part of that information process that I'm talking about that will influence my future purchases, both within and outside of TD.
TD and it's shoppers who actually do comment and write reviews: take your bow.
As for particular reviewers that I can recall that have more significant influence on my shopping decisions here at TD, I'm sorry that I cannot name them at this moment, but I do recognize them while I browse through the reviews, and their TD point counts that show next to their nixs sort of help me familiarly recognize them. Especially the members who post in these forums. They are very helpful members.

Reviews somewhat matter to me. I don't want to buy a toy that nobody has shared their thoughts on unless it's by a brand I hold in high regard like Tomax. However, I find reviews in general aren't very helpful and I've been trying to improve my own once I came to this conclusion. I notice this most with the word "realistic" being thrown around loosely, especially with boobs. As someone who loves them, it's frustrating that videos are my most reliable method of determining which boob toy to get because of this. Seriously, it's okay to not know what the real thing's like so please stop throwing that word around. Or writing a review after they just came so they only have positive thoughts and neglect the negatives (or the review doesn't really tell anything because of said state). This isn't exclusive to ToyDemon, but as someone who's written reviews here, I want to hold my reviews to a higher standard than I have been and I feel others are better off doing the same.
I don't recognize names on here, so no I don't look for specific users.

@**ToyDemon** I think reviews are incredibly important, just like when shopping for clothes to find out when things aren't a good fit. The difference is that here nobody really cares to post their measurements so if a reviewer says it's too tight or had no sensation, I don't really have anything to go off of. Some people must enjoy death grips because I've had purchases where all the reviews claimed "low sensation" and I found it incredibly snug. This isn't a humblebrag—I'm fairly average or below—and I've still had purchases I steered away from at the last minute because I held a ruler up to the screen and figured out that the insertable length was a little short. A lot of products don't have that listed, and it's something I look for every single time and something reviews could help point out as well. I'm more inclined to put stock in reviewers who have more purchases total, or better yet the same product in different softnesses/editions, simply because they have more experience and data to draw from. I guess I haven't browsed enough products to start recognizing familiar faces, but I have had conversations arise from product reviews, which is always nice to confirm that I'm not the only one who thinks a certain way or that somebody else has had similar issues with a product.
I think it's also pretty clear when a reviewer is just writing something down to farm 50 cents off the review points (5 stars, lube great, no other information). I think a lot of reviewers could leave more comments about basic use and care, noting when toys are noisy or hard to clean for starters. People are very forthcoming when toys break due to bad build quality but for the other 95% of toys there's a lot more relevant details to talk about. For you, TD, I think it would be really helpful to have some basic questions to prompt people into writing better reviews. Maybe a short list of prompts such as "How easy is this toy to clean up?" or "How did this toy meet your expectations?" There are a lot of 'gimmick' toy reviews where people don't even talk about the defining feature that makes it stand out, and I wonder how much effort people put into the reviews at all.
It's difficult to pick out a good review, but I will usually put more faith in somebody who's taken the time to write out more in depth about their purchase, and I try to do so as well. It doesn't have to be poetry or funny or scientific, but I notice when people put in effort and I weight their opinions more heavily. I think an easier way to see verified purchases would be nice, as now I think you have to click through to their profile. Total upvotes is great, but indicates community interaction not total ownership/experience. Perhaps something to include under the reviewers name in the sidebar to the left of the review?
