Would you Pre-Order a product that looks interesting?
XIIIShadow ( 31 )
@**TD** I have already pre-ordered on toydemon myself and it went well, personally if the item seems interesting in my opinion then i would pre-order it. It's not like I know much better if said item is going fit my personal tastes compared to something in stock even with reviews. I feel like reviews can only help you so much; at the end of the day you just have to try something to know if you personally like it or not so I see pre-oders being no different than ordering something in stock other than when i will receive the item.

I've only had the pleasure of using the preorder system once, but I think it's a pretty good deal for us consumers all the same! Free shipping on top of a preorder discount is a really good tradeoff for purchasing a product—even without reviews. Thanks to the product info and pictures that ToyDemon uploads, we still have the ability to gauge whether or not we'll like the product.
While I'll admit it helps to be able to read the Japanese text within the images, there are bits of helpful information that don't require Japanese literacy to understand. The mass or size measurements are almost always written somewhere on the box (albeit in metric units). And the sideview of the tunnels are almost always there too. On rare occasions, the boxes might also include English words like "SOFT" or "HARD" to emphasize the softness levels of the product. And, of course, the product's brand info is on there too, which can give you an idea of the product's quality depending on how well-known that brand is.
I preordered the S Rank Momo Mocchi 2000 last year based on my inference that I'd like it. And not only did I get a good deal out of it, but I also liked it!

As long is it doesn’t burn a hole in my wallet, I think it’s fine. When the price is in the $100+ category, then it may become pretty worrisome. Wouldn’t want to burn that much for a disappointing product. At that point, I’d wait for review sites to hopefully give their thoughts and go from there.

@**TD** I haven't done any pre-ordering here but I'm open to the idea. Like everyone else pretty much mentioned I'm more inclined to pick a product that has customer reviews. Especially not having owned very many I'm hesitant to pick up something I know hasn't been praised by someone yet, here or elsewhere online. Without an existing customer review, I feel like the following would help encourage me to take a chance:
1. Incentive: A bonus rewards multiplier in addition to the current 12-18% discount would be nice. I'll take a sizable rewards incentive over a lesser immediate discount. A discount is a discount and I feel like frequent shoppers are more the "pre-order type" if there is one.
2. Videos: Additional media, preferably videos of the product that aren't just manufacturer provided images. In making recent picks I've relied on another site's videos and in-house taken images to get a better sense of the product.
3. First Take: An initial take/review on the product in the form of a longer (than current details tab) on the product either from TD or someone in the community. Just a little more detail that feels personalized, even if it's kind of just "hype", would make me more excited about being an early adopter.

@**TD** I generally don't have an interest in pre-ordering because I really prefer to purchase items with a history of reviews so I can make an informed purchase. And I am not interested in buying the newest and latest thing so I'm perfectly fine with waiting.
Papi ( 206 )
@**TD** I would definitely pre-order items if there are something interesting that I want to get my hands on. In general pre-order to me means that when the item become available I won’t have to worry about it going out of stock. Most of the product Like electronics wouldn’t be that big of a issue since most big box retailers would have some stock but unique products like imported adult toys I think it’s worthwhile to use this function. Btw love the transparency you guys have in discussing how you guys operate with us. Keep up the good work.

@**TD** I See Pre ordering on here as a nice addition for buying new products on here. Although unlike preordering other things such as video games, there isnt much info on the product so its kind of like gambling on weather we're getting a satisfactory product or not, like most people if not some; They like to see the reviews before buying products so they get an idea if what theyre looking at is what theyre looking for since the size and/or type of product is essential to the buyers. Its nice that we get to pre order a product and seeing what it has to offer, and i can trust that what is being advertised is of good quality on this site. But if feel in my opinion that preordering would be better if there as more information on the product so that we know exactly what it is we are going to buy and up to date status from the Manufacturers as to not have problems with the buyers.

@**TD** I mostly use the pre-order section to see what's new and coming out to ear mark for later. It's hard to take the plunge on an untested item as no one likes to waste money and onaholes/hips/breasts etc are hard to fully gauge if they'll satisfy based on photos alone. Reviews become critical but even they won't steer you right 100% of the time as everyone has different levels of taste and pleasure tolerances/preferences. And as mentioned already, sadly sex toys aren't the kind of thing you can try before you buy or even try and easily return like other products. But the Pre-order is a great way to get a deal on a new item, and for cheaper onaholes sometimes worth the spin. The best savings are on the big ticket items of course but a bigger risk if the toy doesn't measure up in termsa of fun/quality. I would probably echo Annonmous34's statements that a slightly better percentage off pre-order price or extra points offered to the first 3 or 5 reviewers of new items would be good to encourage feedback on new items which in turn will help these items become good sellers beyond pre-order (assuming they are actually good of course). Basically a little incentive to help those who are willing to be the guinea pigs or take one for the team and try an untested/unreviewed product for better or for worse. But the short answer is no I haven't pre-ordered anything. I do tend to lean on tunnel design and reviews most heavily for purchases but I have come close to pulling the trigger on a couple larger ticket items and appreciate the option as well as using it just to see what is new/coming out to put on the wish list and keep an eye on.

I like the pre-order feature because if an upcoming toy i really want is available I know I won't have to struggle to get it when it's released. But it's not that common when i'm so excited for a toy. I do impulse buy when i'm bored with my current onahole toys and there are times i don't want to pre-order and have to wait. other times there are toys I think i DO want to pre-order but won't because i wait for reviews on the toy to come out first before wanting to buy.

@**TD** I love the pre-order feature! I haven't used it that much, only about twice so far, however I've only been on this site for about a month so I guess that's not too bad.
Really it all depends on how much money I have to spend and how interesting the product in question looks.
If I see a product on pre-order that I really like and I have the money to get it I'll absolutely pre-order it, especially since shipping is free AND the items on pre-order are discounted, so there's really nothing that would stop me from pre-ordering an interesting looking Item.

@**TD** I think pre-ordering is pretty interesting in that it can purchased at a discount but the lack of reviews is a bit of gamble.
Appfodat ( 59 )
@**TD** I prefer ready to ship items because they have more product reviews available. I would be more likely to consider a pre-order product if there was a video demonstration of what the product looks like with commentary about quality of materials/manufacturing.
Thedemonmemin ( 43 )
@**TD** I recently used a preorder, it was pretty good and I’m glad it was there so I could see it and buy it.

I like that you guys offer preorders but from a buying perspective it can be risky. You really don't know about an onahole until you try it for yourself. That is why I like waiting for some reviews because it does give me a better idea if I will like something.

The downside to pre-ordering something is that there's an element of risk. I am not able to buy too many toys because I'm living with others, so I really do have to sit down and do my research on them and make it count. The number one thing that I look at when purchasing a toy is the reviews. I look to see what kinds of people enjoyed the product, and if there were any reasonable complaints, why they didn't like it.

@**TD** If the product looks fun and cheap enough, I'll preorder.
AndyT ( 1 )
@**TD** I always wait for reviews first. Pre-ordering a new product has risks. I think a pre-order should have a good discount that might incentivize one to make a purchase and or get a nice big promo credit after purchase because of the uncertainty of no reviews. After getting some reviews, the discount can be over and or other extra promos can stop for that new product.
conclusions ( 79 )
@**TD** Depends on the amount of texture and hard or soft.
Thatoneguy2594 ( 38 )
@**TD** Depending on if it looks interesting and if the price fits into my budget I think pre-ordering is great idea. Plus I can be forgetful so having a something new arrive unexpectedly is always fun.

@**TD** Sometimes if a product looks interesting enough i may pre-order it but I would prefer to just wait and see how other people feel about the product first. I like reading reviews and having some feedback on the toy makes me more likely to buy a product if it has good reviews and the feeling i'm going for. Pre-ordering is kind of like a gamble since you don't know if they are actually going to live up to expectations, especially a more expensive product. Generally I like to play it safe, but if a product looks interesting enough I may pre-order.
OnatoyReviewer ( 37 )
@**TD** I really like reading reviews, and i don't want to blow a bunch of money on something that would be cheaply made or not satisfying.
Gengarbot ( 113 )
@**TD** I don't think there is any reason not to use preorder. I always try to make it easy on the company, I'm sure it helps TD a ton to know how many people want an item. I've had 1 item canceled that was a preorder and they gave me a full refund, I also got to keep my points. I didn't even have to ask, so TD gets a 10/10.

I believe pre-ordering is only a kind of the cherry on the top. Video game preorders are due to demand and people wanting to play right away. I don't see the same thing regarding toys. It can be very nice for a popular series. For example, a new Puni Ana toy would definitely be something I would pre-order. I can most likely expect fun and quality just like the new CallofDuty. Probably not a great idea for more "daring" toys like the recent Puni Ana leg torso toy.
Pre-ordering is cool, but like said by others, people mostly buy reviewed toys. I find pre-ordering great if you can accurately gauge how much you'll like the toy.

@**TD** Sure, I'd have no problem pre-ordering. I like seeing reviews, but have enough experience with these products now that I have a sense of what I'm looking for. As long as the photos and information section are of good quality, I would have no issue pre-ordering since I trust this site. Waiting on an unreviewed special order right now in fact and that doesn't feel much different than pre-ordering on my end.
Merrysoda ( 130 )
@**TD** Preordering is a neat concept, but I'll only buy a product with previous reviews especially if it's an expensive product. I would have to see if there were prior reviews on other websites whether it be reviewers or a competitor. I haven't utilized the preorder feature, but I can see myself using it in the future if there is something truly amazing.
Bluehunterx ( 280 )
@**TD** I gave your pre order a try recently and I like the concept but the execution was pretty bad. I pre ordered a item from you guys in beginning of June and it said it would come late June. Product was sent out and July comes around and still no product. I reached out to toy demon which response time was good and they informed me that the package got damaged and the shipping company didn't inform them. Now that's not toy demons fault but it's mid July and I'm still waiting for this to be resolved and I have no idea how long I'm going to be waiting for my product to come in. A week, a month I don't know I have nothing to go by. So will I get another pre order no probably not will probably wait for it to be available because if this problem happens when it's available they probably will have a replacement product to send me.
qemes4fr2chos ( 12 )
@**TD** I've never tried pre-order on this site, but I've been burned on other sites so I'm reluctant to pre-order any physical goods. I might be convinced to try on something on the lower price end, but if it's more expensive I'll probably hit the free shipping threshold anyway so I can just wait.

I don't have an experience pre-ordering from Toydemon but if the marketing for the product is good I would definitely change my opinion on pre-ordering and try it out.

The big incentive for preordering is the free shipping, but obviously its a risk since its a new product and sex toys are much harder to return than other products since you can't just "try them out" and then send it back if you don't like it.
If you're preordering, you pretty much have to think like "am I comfortable losing this much money?"

@**TD** I think offering a greater discount on pre-orders (even just an extra 5%) would encourage more people to try pre-ordering and therefore give reviews and encourage others to buy products later. Alternatively you could give bonus credit to the first few reviewers on an item. I appreciate the preorder system but would only use it if the item in question is something I'm 100% interested in and not too big-ticket of a purchase because I do like to see reviews first.
slow ( -2 )
@**TD** The only problem to me is being unsure of the shipping dates and often the lack of available details.
I don't need reviews or anything, but more thorough dimensions would often be helpful (How big is the opening, etc).
I seem to have different tastes than most in here. I like many things with low ratings, and dislike many things which have high ratings. So, fwiw, all that I'd like to see is more information. Really, just the videos you guys put up that show it in a person's hands, using a camera on it, etc. is enough
And some kind of translation of the images would be helpful. I think someone else said that already.
Again, I bet this is unpopular, but I would prefer if we don't get the hentai images too. I don't really want to see that
