So this month's giveaway, we'll just do something simple. Just yesterday, the Switch 2 was released, so let's discuss some games/anime.
What was the last game you beat? I personally just finished Clair Obscur: Expedition 33 and I thought it was an excellent game—definitely the best RPG I have played in recent memory (though I haven't played many RPGs in recent years). The story, the gameplay, the voice acting—just everything about it was sooooo good. I was slightly annoyed about the lack of a map (considering they are "expeditioners" and write in journals... like, wth!).
I also pre-ordered and got my launch day Switch 2. I haven't played the switch much since I finished Zelda: TOTK, but after holding the nicer Joy-Cons, bigger screen, and higher res/FPS, I can see myself playing more on the Switch 2 again—even if it's just replaying indie games like Slay the Spire on it again!
I also recently finally got around to watching Frieren: Beyond Journey's End and Solo Leveling, and wow, they are both good in their own way.
I enjoyed Frieren's storytelling and seeing what happens to heroes after they finish their adventure in an RPG—hence "Beyond Journey's End". It was so refreshing and hooked me. I can't wait for Season 2.
Solo Leveling, on the other hand, was just satisfying action and the fast pacing in a satisfying way.
But enough rambling from me—what is the last game you beat? What anime would you recommend I watch next? If you don't play videogames or watch anime, let us know what your favorite game / cartoon is.

Did you get a Switch 2 at launch?

@**ToyDemon** My favorite game I play is Warframe, which you cant really beat. Definitely one to check out. As for animes I've been watching SpyXFamily with my partner. Not an anime I'd choose, but its actually pretty good.
**ToyDemon** ( 10914 )

@Drewbert how is warframe now? We played it LONGGGGG time ago like I wanna say 10 years back. A group of us started it, played it for a few hours and just never bothered. It was too grindy at the time, like if you didn't pay, you'll just have to grindddd forever.
Drewbert ( 307 )

@**ToyDemon** The newer 1999 update was actually pretty fun and was a prelude in away. From what I heard its gotten a lot better and faster pace. Still grindy but not as bad as other games. Most people say its the most ethical free to play, and with the trading system you don't have to pay into it if you don't want to.
CYH ( 34 )
@**ToyDemon** Last game I beat:
I finally played and beat Sekiro: Shadows Die Twice! I grabbed it during the Steam sale for half off—and it turned out to be one of the best purchases I’ve made. The combat was brutally satisfying, and finally beating Isshin felt like conquering a mountain. Definitely lived up to the hype.
Switch 2 thoughts:
I haven’t picked up the Switch 2 yet—holding off for now and hoping for a better price or a bundle deal down the line. My current Switch still works fine, and I’m mostly on PC these days anyway. But yeah… those new Joy-Cons and the screen upgrade do look nice.

@CYH I personally can never get into Souls games no matter which one I try. Ppl said Elden Ring is the best souls for newcomers and I tried it for like couple of hours and gave up. Not sure what about it that just doesn't grab me.....
browsingforfun ( 30 )
@**ToyDemon** I would try Elden Ring again but get the Seamless Co-op mod. its a simple mod to install and it allows you to beat the game side by side with a friend. you can also still play solo with the mod if your friend isnt available.
**ToyDemon** ( 10914 )

@browsingforfun didn't know co-op mod is a thing. But my friends are all on the xbox so can't really install a co-op mod. Sucks.

@**ToyDemon** This might seem like a stupid question and maybe answered else where but how do you make your wish list public or see if it is already public?

Congrats on winning the giveaway!
Looking at the polls, seems like no one at least in the community cares about the Switch 2 even though it was the fastest selling console ever!
Also thanks for all the recommendations, I have a lot more games and anime to watch now.
Thanks to everyone else that participated and better luck next time!

@**ToyDemon** Last game I beat was Blue Prince. It is a fun roguelike, deck builder, puzzle game. You feel so good when you solve a puzzle and even when you can't there is always another path forward. Fullmetal Alchemist is an anime i would recommend to anyone. It has a little bit of everything in it. I thought about buying a Switch 2 but decided to wait. I don't really want to support them charging $450 for the console and having $80 games( most of which are not even fully on the cartridge). Also we all know they will release an OLED version eventually that will look and play even better.
**ToyDemon** ( 10914 )

@BGL never heard of Blue Prince, but I LOVE roguelike games. Is this rogue-lite or hardcore roguelike?
I also agree what you said about the switch 2, especially the pricing. But Nintend will always Nintendo and I mainly got it because we have kids that also play the switch and I want it on a bigger screen and better performance. Our switch 1 is the OG so it's time to upgrade.

Latest RPG is I'm in the end game of Monster Hunter Wilds, it's decent, not bad at all, just not as good as MH World. Maybe it'll get better with time, Iceborne was better than vanilla world, anyway I digress... Revisited "Hajime no ippo" recently, i almost forgot this, glad I did.

**ToyDemon** ( 10914 )

@CSaintj We love MH at the office. I just recently started playing MH Wilds, but I gotta say it's not my favorite MH. MH Rise was a lot better and I hate the WIlds' forcing of story and all the "open world" which means nothing because all you do is auto-ride from place to place. Wilds is definitely one of the most disappointing MH I have played.
Also a huge fan of Hajime no Ippo. WIsh they'd do a re-master like the 2011 HXH and actually do the whole story line.

CSaintj ( 12 )

@**ToyDemon** I'm glad I'm not alone in thinking that mh wilds is kinda meh, you are 100% correct about the game almost forcing you to just auto ride the sekret for everything. It takes all of the exploration and immersion out. I didn't really care for rise either, for me World is peak MH. In Rise I have like 30 hours, in Wilds Im at 15 or so, in World I have somewhere between 2700-3k. That's the most time I've ever put into 1 character in any game. It was also my first MH game.

@**ToyDemon** Baldur's gate 3. Amazing game.
Starting a new playthrough with my brother after the lastest update trying different builds.
I've watching apothecary diaries with my wife. Pretty solid honestly. It's really easy to predict though.

@Ineviolet I have been meaning to get to BG3 but I mostly game on the xbox gamepass and switch so really haven't gotten to it. I know it won GOTY and is one of the most highly rated games. Hopefully I'll get around to it.
My wife and I also enjoy Apothecary Diaries, season 1 is better than season 2, IMO.

The last game I beat was diablo III, it was really fun when you can play with some friends together
As for anime, I would recommend Slam Dunk, which is my memory in my childhood.

@LoveLinesS Diablo 3 was pretty fun played, we played it twice. I first played it on the PC back when it first launched, sold around $300+ worth of items in the auction house, which was great! Then when it came out on the switch, we picked it up again and played it again. I also played and beat Diablo 4, but didn't like it as much.
Slam Dunk is one of my favorites too, however, I wish they'd re-master it like the movie that recently came out.
Slam Dunk deserves better animation, less drag/fillers (like all animes back in the days), and whole manga story line animated

@**ToyDemon** The last game I beat was Yakuza 4 remastered, I've been playing through the whole Yakuza series after picking them up on sale a while back and it's been a blast! For an anime recommendation I suggest a new one called To Be Hero X. I'm still waiting for the full season to be out so I can binge it in a day or two, but I've heard nothing but good things about it. They do this really cool thing with the art style where they swap between 2D anime style and a 3D or 2.5D Arcane style on the fly and from the trailers it looks really well done. I highly recommend it for anyone that's an action/superhero genre fan.
**ToyDemon** ( 10914 )

@penga83 to be hero x looks interesting! Thanks for the recommendation.
Bigsuck69 ( 10 )

@**ToyDemon** The last game I beaten is a short game called Grandma, No!. It’s a wacky physics based game about Being a grandma. I would explain more about the game, but doing so would spoil the deep and expansive lure of the game due to how short the game is.
A anime I would recommend is Scott Pilgrim Takes Off I thought it was pretty fun!

@Bigsuck69 I thought you were just fucking with me until I looked up the game..........lol!
PlasticMan ( 137 )

@**ToyDemon** I would recommend Balatro for a fun addicting rogue like and Bocchi the Rock for a good music-based slice of life comedy
**ToyDemon** ( 10914 )

@PlasticMan I have Balatro on switch as I love roguelike / roguelite games. I still haven't gotten around to it so maybe the bigger screen on switch 2 is a reason to start.
I'll check out Bocchi the Rock, thanks!

@**ToyDemon** Recently finished Elden Ring with all achievements. I haven't watched anything in a while, aside from Frieren when the first season ended, but I'm planning/hoping to watch Apothecary Diaries next.
**ToyDemon** ( 10914 )

@taiga0 I cannot get into souls games at all. Even with elden ring which they say is best for newcomers. Couldn't get into it.
I highly recommend Apothecary Diaries.
I highly recommend Apothecary Diaries.

@**ToyDemon** Just completed a playthrough of Cyberpunk 2077 with all the updates and DLCs. Definitely way more satisfying than my initial playthrough post launch. Might consider a Switch 2 after a new Zelda announcement. Don’t watch too much anime now but I highly recommend “From the New World (Shinsekai yori)”. Released a while back and not many know about it but one of the few that I binge watched in a single sitting.
**ToyDemon** ( 10914 )

@Masa I am tempted to play Cyberpunk 2077 on the switch 2....however, I just can't justify the price. I'll check out the From the New Word, thanks!

@**ToyDemon** The last game I beat was Tsukihime Remake. Great VN that despite me knowing the story already for various reasons, I'd never played myself. If you don't coujt VNs as games, Stellar Blade, I'd gotten sidetracked on it since its release by Tekken and Poe2 and Elden Ring, but I came back finally and beat it. Great game even beyond Eve being a stunner.
An anime I personally love is Kara no Kyoukai (localized as The Garden of Sinners), its closer to a series of 8 movies, but its phenomenal in all categories.

I play games that you can't really 'beat.' Like mmorpgs and such. I love the grindy aspect and the replayability loop! So, my favorite game would be Destiny 2. It's always fun popping in a raid or dungeon and having a blast. Voice chat or not. Always fun.
For anime, since you liked Solo Leveling, you might like Jujutsu Kaisen and One-Punch Man. Two action packed anime with an overpowered main character and just a fun watch overall.

@Kyle177013 I have seen both and enjoy both immensely. JJK is actually one of me and my wife's Top 5 animes. We can't wait for season 3, though we know ending already blows knowing how the manga ended.....

@**ToyDemon** The last game I beat was Nine Sols. I found it out about it when looking for games with combat similar to Sekiro and it definitely delivered. The parrying is really satisfying and the bosses are difficult, but fun. As for a good anime to watch... I recommend the Monogatari Series. It has everything I like in an anime: interesting and likable characters, character development, some action and fan service, and an a good plot.
jknkjnkjnjknk ( 1 )
@**ToyDemon** Last game I beat would be Elden Ring Nightreign. Even though it's a roguelike and no clear real final final boss, I consider myself have beat it with defeating all the bosses. Game is pretty good. I would say it's a fun group game, but nothing you can really sink your teeth into for hours on end . I would recommend apothecary diary to be your next watch. 2 whole seasons and nail biting content to enjoy
Nanachi ( 60 )

@**ToyDemon** The best game (Ever!) is Darkwood, its a top-down horror and despite so it was on the of the most immersive experiences I had ever played and i don't know if id ever find another game like this as I replayed it 5 times ITS JUST SOO GOOD, the atmosphere, music, sound design, gameplay, all of it melds so perfectly together, I'd recommend everyone to play it HIGHKEY.
Other than that I really loved "Made in Abyss" though the creator is.. Odd.. its an amazing story with great world building, interesting creatures and characters I really do cherish this anime, love the music too!

@**ToyDemon** Nice and simple questions, love it!
To answer, though. The last game I beat on switch was Mario Wonder. On PC, Metaphor: ReFantazio. I highly recommend both. For anime, please check out ReLIFE - it's about a 27 year old NEET in Japan, who is offered a drug to transform him temporarily back to a high school student. The beginning of it reminds me of the movie Limitless.
Thanks for the giveaway again!

@**ToyDemon** last game i rolled the credits on was elden ring. total playtime was 161 hours. all i'll say is that if anyone hasn't played it, it's amazing, only as hard as you make it for yourself, and should absolutely be played through as blindly as possible (that is, without looking stuff up online).
as for anime, "tsuki ga kirei" is my only 10/10. no pretension, no contrivances, no silliness -- just a pure lens into the life of two middle schoolers fumbling with love. it's superlative.
oh, and on anime, i saw that "summer wars" has a 4k remaster that's coming out next month in cinemas. i don't leave the house much, but i'll definitely go outside to see that one on a big screen

@**ToyDemon** The latest game I've beaten is stellar blade. The music and combat are both fantastic the story is a bit lackluster, but even so it's one of my favorite games. As for anime, I recommend taking a look at Kekkai Sensen. it's primarily episodic, which may be trun off for you. But, if you can get past that it's a really great series.
BoshyMan ( 7 )
@**ToyDemon** The last game I beat was The Messenger. I only bought it because it was described as a Metroidvania, and the main character reminded me of Ryu from Ninja Gaiden.
I highly recommend it, has a lot of humor, great soundtrack, and isn’t too difficult if you're just aiming to finish the main story.
If you go for 100% completion, some of the hidden items can be pretty challenging to reach.
As for an anime recommendation (in case you haven’t watched it yet), I suggest Vivy: Fluorite Eye’s Song

@**ToyDemon** I'm late on the hype and peak of popularity, but beat the last of us 2 and it was really action-packed. It is so movie-like in the cutscenes and combat. The game was way longer and took a turn I didn't expect. Though leaving the game ending at part 1 would have been fine too and having it be open for interpretation.
In terms of anime I'm also late on it, but finished attack on titan, left off at season 3 so season 4 was a huge shift as well. In retrospect a lot of stuff makes sense and the intro to season 3 made much more sense. Interested in watching Frieren it's recommended a lot by friends too so that has to be next then.

Didn't get a nitindo swich 2, I'm still on swich 1 perhaps maybe I'll purchase switch 2, I still feel like a novice (coming from playstation and Xbox here) I use to watch videos of people playing the Original Metroid Prime, so with that knowledge I'd figure I'd try the Remastered version and, shocked that they didn't mess anything up from the presentation ( graphics) to the music everything felt familiar, but new, even if you'd never heard of the game it's easy to get into.
Anime to recommend ? Maybe Demon Slayer for it's action, not sure it's for everyone.
Haruhi Suzumiya, i like the character dynamics and how the main character interacts with all the others and he has a good balance of a lot of things, funny, action, humor, and I think the soundtrack is timeless.

@**ToyDemon** A giveaway during my birthday month? I gotta contribute something here. I've just recently beat Stellar Blade. I dont have a PS5 since there weren't very many games that I wanted to play on it. So when I saw it hit Steam I had to get it and complete it. Currently done with 2 endings and working on the 3rd. Unlocking all the outfits have been fun, especially with how sexy they made Eve.
In terms of anime I would recommend one that was an absolute sleeper for me. World Trigger. It came out during the SAO hype so it was overshadowed quite a bit. The first season is long but if you put in your investment for all that character development and world building then you're in for a great pay off during season 3.

@**ToyDemon** Beat Persona 5 recently. I don't think it's all that special, but something about it kept me engaged the entire time, not sure what it was. Maybe I just really like JRPG styles. I would recommend watching demon slayer if you haven't already since there's a movie coming out later this year. If you want something funny, Grand Blue Dreaming is super underrated!

@**ToyDemon** Can't really say I've beaten any games in the traditional sense recently, as I've mostly been playing sandboxes like Minecraft and Terraria. The last game I did beat though was Metroid Fusion, love replaying that every now and then.
Some anime I watched recently are Apothecary Diaries, Demon Lord 2099, and Reborn as a Vending Machine, Now I Wander the Dungeon. Apothecary Diaries hooked me in, which I definitely didn't expect from its premise of imperial Chinese court politics. Demon Lord 2099 might be enjoyable as long as you make sure you don't let the first episode set your expectations high. It starts off with a really interesting premise, where magic fused with technology in a futuristic cyberpunk setting, but it quickly falls off and gets derailed quite a bit. Reborn as a Vending Machine is a surprisingly fun watch despite its title. Once you get past the first episode, it has a lot of fun ideas to throw to you answering a lot of what-ifs of this scenario.

@**ToyDemon** recently finished the ffvii remake intergrade, and I’m starting rebirth now. I specifically bought my ps5 to finally play them this year and they just announced an xbox release???? I’m currently also trying to watch through the nominees for anime of the year, and am halfway through solo leveling rn, and am a tad disappointed that Frieren, or apothecary diaries didn’t win, but I’m withholding full judgement until I finish season one of solo leveling.

@**ToyDemon** Glad you enjoyed Expedition 33! I haven't played it personally but many of my friends have, and I've been really enjoying the music on the side.
I actually waited to make this post because of a new game that just came out a few days ago. I haven't beat any games in a while, but something similar to bring up is that the Umamusume mobile just came out on global and its been a blast. Mostly just a training simulator but its so fun to see global players getting so attached to these characters and coming up with all sorts of fanarts and jokes. The production value put into it is actually insane, from the animations to voicework to character stories.
On a similar note, the umamusume movie: "Uma Musume: Pretty Derby - Beginning of a New Era" is a marvel of animation and storytelling (albeit only fansubbed for now). It easily took my top spot for anime and movies combined for last year, *and* it's beginner friendly. The amount of hype, drama, and character development they were able to squeeze in 90 minutes is unreal, I can see it sticking in my head for years to come.

@**ToyDemon** I think the last game I beat was Astlibra Revision. It's a neat side scrolling hack'n'slash fantasy rpg made by one guy. The story is well constructed too, considering it deals with multiple timelines and rewriting history.
Favorite games? Legend of Dragoon and FF14.
As for anime, if you like fantasy Dungeon Meshi is the goat. Mob psycho 100 is great. Katanagatari and Land of the Lustrous are hidden gems. Spacy Dandy is fun.

@**ToyDemon** The last video game I've beaten was Fire Emblem the Binding Blade. After playing off and on for the past few years, I've finally conquered both routes on hard mode. Honestly I didn't find myself enjoying this game very much and I was just waiting for it to finally end. The low hit rates, terrible gaiden chapters that are an absolute slog to get through and the bs ambush spawns made this game pretty unfun for me. Definitely one of the weaker entries in the Fire Emblem series imo.
An anime that I would recommend to everyone is Fullmetal Alchemist, both the original 2003 show and Brotherhood. FMA has great characters, story and action, they're near perfect shows to me.

@**ToyDemon** I suppose technically the last game I beat was the new mario kart, but I feel like that doesn't count so I'm going to include finishing up Stellar Blade as the most recent, which was amazing all the way through. For an anime to watch, it's not really new and actually it's quite old but would have to recommend checking out Elfen Lied if you haven't. Short but great series that you may have missed along the way.

@**ToyDemon** The last game that I beat was Hogwarts: Legacy. I ended up 100% it, but I kinda wish I hadn't because it was a slog for the last couple of hours just getting to a certain point with every house. There was also a god ray issue I had where every time I went into a vault and sometimes into a small house, I would just get flash-banged and couldn't see anything. Game play wise, it starts out good and kind of ends up being repetitive. It's fun to be be in the world, don't get me wrong. I probably wouldn't have so many complaints if I hadn't 100% it, but it's too late to turn back the hands of time now.
I moved on to Enter the Gungeon and Jedi: Fallen Order. I haven't gotten very far in either yet, but I'm really having fun with Jedi: Fallen Order. The game play is fun, the story is good, and the controls feel good, especially the movement.
I don't really watch anime. I used to read a lot of manga, but I stopped because I was wasting way too much time. I would be able to just read them for about 16-18 hours a day provided there was actually that much for me to read.

@**ToyDemon** The last game I've beaten is Far Cry 3. I liked it, but for a game from 2012 it has a *lot* of jank & the story falls off a cliff in the second part. I've also been playing the Jedi Knight games, would highly recommend them to any Star Wars fans. As for Anime, definitely Panty & Stocking. Now's the perfect time to get into the series since Season 2's airing next month!

@**ToyDemon** The last game I really "finished" was destiny 2. Been playing since the first one came out. The biggest story arc ended with The Final Shape dlc, and I did the new raid that came out with it on day 1. Me and three other friends, plus two random people, did it at launch, and tried our hardest to finish it during contest mode, only getting about 6 hours of sleep during the 2 days contest mode was live. We worked out the mechanics ourselves, and had a ton of fun. Unfortunately we couldn't beat the last encounter before contest mode ended, due to a number of reasons. But it was fun. And it was a good stopping point for me to step away from a game I'd dedicated thousands of hours to.

@**ToyDemon** I have been playing indie games for a long time, last one is binding of Issac. it's a rouge/dungeon game and has unlimited combo that each game would be different experience. Each run for pro player can be quick like 30 minutes run but it's always 1 hour run for me.
Favorite anime is Demon Slayer rn, can't wait for the new ova coming out this year.

@**ToyDemon** I don’t “beat” video games the way people do, but the most recent one I got really deep into was The Witness—I helped untangle its tricky, beautiful puzzles. For anime, I think you'd really enjoy Mushoku Tensei: Jobless Reincarnation—it’s got heartfelt growth, gorgeous animation, and just the right mix of adventure and emotion. If anime isn’t your thing or you’re just curious about something else, I’ve had a blast playing word games with folks like you, and as for cartoons, I’d pick Gravity Falls—it’s witty, warm, and always full of surprises.

The last "real" game I played was prince of persia on xbox 360 (also the last console I owned) decades ago. The last anime I watched was fate/stay night from UFotable ten years ago.
Admittedly I do play one gacha game but don't want to advertise it and also believe the genre is an abomination to the gaming industry.
Instead of gaming I mostly hang out on twitch. It saves me a lot of time/energy/money. The streamers i watched are all 100% always up to date on the latest in gaming.
I did read a bunch of manga recently like Goblin Slayer and Mushoku Tensei (the LN has long been finished but anime/manga are far behind). I pity those who have been following all these manga for over two decades with no end in sight.
As for cartoon, that would be justice league. Great series and the DC movies will slap you in the face.

@**ToyDemon** The last game I beat was elden ring, but I am currently slowly making my way through oblivion remastered right now, but I still have a ways to go! For an anime I would recommend I'd suggest either parasyte or black lagoon. I have never had anyone complain about them yet!

Last game I beat was God of War Ragnarök. Thought the Norse series was great and loved the 2018 game. This was also great and served as an amazing sequel.
Didn't buy the Switch 2. More of a PC gamer than a console gamer so never sought it out.
Haven't watched much anime recently, would probably recommend something like One Punch Man which I am excited for season 3.

@**ToyDemon** Last game i beat was legend of heroes: trails of cold steel 2. If your a fan of jrpgs you should give the whole legend of heroes games a try. There is a lot of them. An anime id like to recommend is akuyaku reijou oji san. Its a comedy anime where an old guy gets isekaied as a villainess.

@**ToyDemon** most recent game i beat was Warhammer 40k Space Marine 2. I've played plenty since, but none with an actual way to "beat" them. As for anime recommendation, I am currently enjoying Apothecary Diaries. But I haven't watched any for a couple weeks so I'll recommend the manhwa SSS-Class Suicide Hunter. Somehow it always tops itself every season.

@**ToyDemon** The most recent games that i have played and beat are The Duck Detective, both the Secret Salami and the Ghost of Glamping. Very short mystery games with A LOT of personality. I love them. Very short and rather cheap if you are looking to kill some time one night. Otherwise, if you like roguelike card games (like slay the spire) then i also recommend Wildfrost. It's one of my favorite games and I play it on multiple platforms.
For anime, I would like to recommend Dimension W. Underrated gem in my opinion. It has a very interesting story and reaches a conclusion by the end of the season. While it didn't adapt all of the content from the manga, it hit all the major points. The characters are really fun too! (My favorite character is Loser. Yes, that is his name.)
For the switch 2, I don't have one yet. I would certainly like to pick one up for the future. I really want to play the Kirby Airriders game whenever they release that. Fine with waiting until that time, especially since the console is difficult to buy right now.

@**ToyDemon** Last game I beat was Persona 4, looking forward to the remake that was just announced! My anime rec is Bang Dream Mygo, a very emotional band drama about how people lost in life can come together, despite their personal flaws. Very overlooked show outside of Asia, even though it won an anime of the year award.

I've just finished Stellar Blade. Been waiting forever for it to be ported to PC, and it's everything I want in a game: great gameplay, hot main character, and outfit customization.
For anime, I recommend checking out Wistoria: Wand and Sword. Typical magic/fantasy school setting, but the fight animations are amazing.

@**ToyDemon** If the latest update of a live service game counts I would say the recent canto (story arc) of a gacha game called Limbus Company which is my current addiction lol definitely one of the better stories told in its genre imo. If were talking a regular full release game I would have to say Signalis which is a very cool horror indie game with references to the popular book "The King in Yellow" and gameplay reminiscent to that of the older silent hill games. Overall I really enjoyed it especially the unique story paired with that bleak futuristic atmosphere. I highly recommend it for anyone into the horror shooter genre and don't mind doing some thought provoking puzzles in between combat. As for anime one I finished one from last season that I feel was slept on was "Orb About the Movement of the Earth". For anyone looking for an interesting narrative I'd say this is easily one of the best written animes imo I've seen in recent years. It's not very often you get an anime where I feel like almost every episode complete throws you off guard and goes in a unpredictable direction. Definitely in my top 5 animes!

I don't really watch anime by myself I only watch it with friends but I had a fun time watching "Miss Kobayashi's Dragon Maid". Its a really cute slice of life anime following an office worker who lives a drab life but becomes friends with a dragon girl and it changes her life forever and gives her a family of sorts. Theres alot more to it than that obviously, its great!
As for the last game I played was Disco Elyseum which is a story game about decisions. I still havnt beat it, I actually got it yesterday but im having a blast with it so far. The decisions actually matter and change characters unlike most games where the "decisions" are just different ways to say YES. Not getting a switch 2. Had the 1st one and was not impressed with hardware specs. Nintendo has lost me as a customer for their lackluster hardware.

Haven't played any traditional RPG for quite a few years, the last was probably Wander Wonder (a Zelda-like RPG game) 10+ years ago.
PC most of the times, don't really care about stations/switch/etc.
Video wise, pretty much various Youtube long and short daily news stuff; haven't really followed anything specific.

The last game I beat was Monster Hunter: World! I was interested in the class system, monster hunting, and the combat system. The game has a good story and forces you to be patient and learn. Unfortunately, I never had the time to beat the DLC Iceborne, but I am hoping to do so in the future!
For your next anime, I would recommend Bleach. Bleach is your classic shonen anime with a boy hero, an awesome story, and superpowers. It's a story that rewards you for witnessing it all unfold, because at the end of the story, you get to connect the dots that go way back to the beginning of the story! This is what makes an anime compelling and cool to watch in my opinion.

@**ToyDemon** last game I beat: Deathloop. Got it as a free game from epic games and had to fight through the game crashing every hour or so. The concept is interesting and it would’ve been a 8/10 if it wasn’t for the crashes.
Switch 2: I’ve never owned any Nintendo devices ever. I’ve never had the opportunity to but have always watched others playing Nintendo games. I used to own a PS Vita as a kid and so I would like one, but I’m gonna hold off for now.
Cartoon: while I do watch plenty of anime, I’ve recently been enjoying a lot of old cartoons like Kids Next Door and Courage The Cowardly Dog. The last anime I watched was Bleach. The newest seasons is hype.

Elden Ring is my favorite so far. I'm not good enough at Sekiro and RDR2 yet to really get into them, even though the theme of the game is definitely more my thing than Elder Rings :(
Fullmetal Alchemist and Attack on Titan are my favorite, although I think Princess Mononoke is the best classic.

Last game I beat is oblivion remastered. Absolutely loved it. I had a ton of nostalgia as they kept the originality of the game but with realistic graphics. Also, I can't wait to replay it when more mods are created for it! Other than that I haven't been following a lot on new games, but the one that caught my interest was chrono odyssey. I hope it scratches my mmorpg itch that I've been longing for in years!
As for anime, It's been maybe 3 years since I last religiously watched anime. The most recent one I watched was Solo Leveling because I already had read the manhwa--which is the reason why I stopped watching anime! I recommend you to read manhwa or manga! I have fully converted from watching to reading the source material and I don't regret it! I recommend leveling with the gods and nano machine for beginner reading, although you can't go wrong with most recommended manhwas on reddit!

@**ToyDemon** I don't think I've 'beat' a game in a long time lol. Either multiplayer games with no end, grand strategy games that end whenever I get bored with my playthrough and start a new one, or rogue-likes where there is no end.
For recommendations, I know Overwatch 2 has been stained from its past but its actually in a great spot now! Perks like Apex Legends in the base mode, and there's a stadium mode that's like a MOBA where you buy items and upgrades! Also, you're missing out if you haven't served up some democracy in Helldivers 2! 9 Kings has been a pretty fun rogue-like.

@**ToyDemon** Clair Obscur is also the game I most recently beat. Really fun, the right amount of pathos, and most importantly a big ol wine sack with a mask that is both weeee and whooo. It's fun, but I feel that Shinichiro Watanabe's last few works haven't held up to the unbelievable quality of Cowboy Bebop (still the best IMO) or Samurai Champloo.

@**ToyDemon** I also just beat Expedition 33 and echo all the points you made. I usually play RPGs for the story and characters and don't really care for the combat, but this game is just so fun and engaging in every aspect. I spent so much time playing around with different weapons and builds. I also got annoyed with the lack of a map in dungeons but I forgive it because they're relatively linear and alternate paths usually connect with themselves. It also let me appreciate the details in the environments more which I believe was the intention.
As for anime, I'm going to recommend Girls Band Cry. It has fun characters and I personally love the music, which you can give a listen to on youtube if you're interested.

Last game I beat was the original "Secret of Mana" (not the remastered version). Never played it when I was young so I had no nostalgia goggles going in. Still found the game to be very whimsical and magical and overall left a lasting impression on me.
As for anime recommendations, "Akudama Drive" was a good one from recent memory (2020?! time sure flies....). It starts a bit slow the first few episodes but it gets good if you stick with it. If you just want to chill and laugh you ass off, then I highly, highly recommend "Daily Lives of High School Boys".

@**ToyDemon** Last game I beat was Kingdom Come Deliverance 2 and that game is really immersive for the setting and it is quite a long story for the price you pay for it if you go and do the side quests, and 2 is a bit more beginner friendly than 1 when it comes to combat.
For anime, I tend to watch slice of life stuff, but the latest one I watched was the OVA for Konosuba season 3, which I recommend watching the whole series for the comedy, and they announced that they were in production for season 4 I think.
An interesting thing I saw that is going to get released next month is a TV anime version of Nukitashi, which somehow got greenlit for regular broadcasting in Japan, even though it being an erotic comedy visual novel originally.

It's been a while since I've beaten a game, I always play a game and halfway through it I get bored. but I think it was Borderlands 2, and only because my friend forced me to finish it.
Anime recommendation would be Mirai Nikki I just really enjoyed the premise and was one of the only anime I was able to finish watching, again I just have a horrible time finishing stuff.

The last game I beat would be Pokemon Ruby as sapphire/ruby/emerald are my personal favorite in the series and I wanted to replay it with a nuzlock and my absol absolutely crushed the elite four with some sword dances.
As for an anime recommendation I haven't watched any anime recently as I find myself being really picky about animation and stuff after watching so many in middle and high-school and I get really put off with 3d models/ cg that really stick out against the 2d animations. But one of the best ones that I have read recently which I know has an adaption is "Faraway Paladin" I loved the pacing, characters, stories, and art as it kind of reminded me of elden ring which I have been playing through recently. I am not sure how great the anime adaption is but if it is anywhere near what the manga is it should be a fun time

@**ToyDemon** The last game I beat was Like a Dragon: Infinite Wealth. The combat was slightly improved from the first game but I actually preferred the first game's story although the new Hawaii setting was nice. As a big fan of the Yakuza series, I can't wait to see what RGG has in store for Ichiban's future.

The last game I beat is Halo Infinite. It was good fun for a solo campaign. Side missions got a bit repetitive though.
I recommend you watch Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba if you haven't already. Also, I hear great things about The Apothecary Diaries and Kaiju No. 8

@**ToyDemon** I like these questions! Since I’m passionate about both, I’ll try not to ramble too much.
The last game I beat was Stellar Blade. The story wasn’t all too interesting but it was good enough, however the cutscenes and graphics were beautiful. The combat and boss fights were absolutely thrilling, and the animations were insane!
Don’t even get me started on Eve, the protagonist of the game, she’s breathtaking. Can’t forget the endless customization too. If you enjoy games with lots of bosses, intricate combat systems, and lots of customization I highly recommend it.
As for anime there’s so many but I’m going to have to go with JoJo's Bizarre Adventure. I love the animation and character design so much. There’s so many cool and memorable characters like Dio, Jotaro, Giorno, Jolyne, the list goes on and on.
I will admit there are some slower arch’s like Diamond is Unbreakable but the thing is you can start with almost any arch and you won’t be too lost on the story since most of them introduce a new character to follow. My personal favorite was Golden Wind. Everything about it was absolutely perfect. Definitely recommend it. I’d keep going but I don’t want to get carried away!

@**ToyDemon** I just completed Saints Row 2 on the PC. Thanks to the Juiced patch and High Quality radio mod I had a stable playthrough with few crashes. Haven't played it in 17 years. Best thing to do is shoot at someone's tires and watch them drive crazy fast and hit another car or NPC.
As for anime, I haven't watched that shit for 15+ years. I read Solo Leveling, but near the end, it became a confusing mess. Before it turned really bad, they had to end it. You can tell. If you want diabetes, read the manga: Hitomi-chan is shy with strangers.

@**ToyDemon** Last game I beat was a replay of Bloodborne, replaying it really put into perspective what an amazing game it is and should definitely be on a must play list if you love the From Soft games, 10/10!
Also, it was crazy to see just how active a community it still has after such a long time, really speaks to its quality.

@**ToyDemon** Last game I beat was Xenoblade Chronicles 2. A few months ago I played the first one, and I loved it. Xenoblade 2 surpassed my expectations and failed to meet them at times. On the good side of things, Xenoblade 2's story was amazing, villains were top tier, and the world was breathtaking.
On the other hand... the game has its bad moments, the awful voice acting compared to 1's, awful UI, the complicated gameplay and awful tutorials made me rage. Gameplay is fun when you get the hang of it, but most of the time I tended to avoid enemies. Lastly... the sexualized female characters designs, I know this is a site to buy onaholes so you'd expect someone like me to be fine with it, but seeing the girls with ridiculous proportions, and revealing outfits after playing Xenoblade 1 where the girls are fully clothes and have good proportion sizes was a shock to me. I don't really care much, but some of the designs are too much. Search up "Dahlia Xenoblade" if you want to see an example. Definitely not the sequel I was hoping for.
For an anime recommendation... watch Trigun. It's a 90s anime, so expect that feel and quality. It's about an outlaw named Vash with a 60-billion-dollar bounty. I've only seen 8 episodes, but there might be some Evangelion (if you've seen that) type of lore coming up later in the anime. It's also pretty funny, hilarious characters.

Recently replayed through all of 007 GoldenEye.. Over 20 years later I still love that game..
I also managed to preorder a Switch 2, haven't received it yet though :(
Anime? nothing recently. I managed to sit through every episode of Daima last Fall....if that counts.

The last game I beat was a porn game. AV Director Life. A grindy game, but I liked it since you control the camera angles and splice together the films for sale. The female lead also get slowly more lewd as the game goes on. I do hope the developer will add more to the game or does a DLC like the other games (Seed of the Dead). As for a non-porn game then it would be Timberborn.
As for anime I really do like Girls und Panzer. Silly premise, but man I do love the tank combat and random historical references.

@**ToyDemon** Nanairo Reincarnation (a visual novel) is the last game I've beat, played it recently and it's very comedic but soul crushing.
Clannad will always be my blanket recommendation, very fun and impactcul story. The only complaint I have is the old anime style art but it's not much.

@**ToyDemon** The last game I completed was God of War Ragnarok and it was glorious. I recommend good old Yuru Camp. A nice comfy anime. I am enjoying Helldivers 2 at the moment too, but I don't know if you can really complete this game.

Unfortunately I have a hard time getting around to beating video games. Turns out I'm not as much of a gamer as I used to think I was. However, I believe the last game I beat was Bomb Rush Cyberfunk, which I would absolutely recommend! I would also recommend Cyberpunk 2077. It would be the last game I beat if I ever got around to it. 600ish hours in and I've had too much fun in the open world and messing with builds to see the ending. As for an anime, I absolutely recommend Hi Score Girl! It doesn't get enough love and I really hope the Darkstalkers-focused spin-off manga gets adapted someday. @**ToyDemon**

@**ToyDemon** Congratulations on acquiring a Switch 2. I was initially excited myself on upgrading, but it all went 180 when I saw the new video game msrp. After seeing a couple titles make their way to Steam (Rune Factory), I have decided to upgrade my pc war machine.
The most recent game I beat was Miside. The idea of getting sucked into a mobile game to meet the female character you have been nurturing sounds ok and all, but the "psychological horror" part was the twist. Tried going for the simp end but that is locked on the first playthrough.
Years back I used to download anime and marathon them once the season finished. Nowadays with work and mandatory overtime I partake in just reading Manga/Manhua/Manwha. What is nice is that the content is typically ahead of any anime adaptation, and you can quickly view through the action or leisurely read at your own pace. My favorite manhua would be Top Tier Providence. It is a slow life isekai about a guy who wants to only cultivate but gets tangled with the politics and heavenly immortals that want to purge the world.

I just finished Final Fantasy XIII again. I just wanted to play it again bc it was one of my past favorites.
I recommend 'Delicious In Dungeon' as your next anime. It was surprisingly good and I think the next season will be out next year.

@**ToyDemon** Last game I beat is an overlooked gem of a puzzle game: Bean and Nothingness. Very challenging and satisfying to complete. It's been a while since I've watched anime, but I really enjoyed and recommend Hibike Euphonium. The characters actually practice in this one so I guess that makes it the most realistic band anime out there, definitely worth checking out.
