has anyone received a product with poorly sealed packaging before? I've ordered a lot of toys before and they were always packaged excellently
despite the box being sealed inside a plastic, the A-One brand item i received recently, wasn't packaged like the ones i usually got. the box itself didn't come with the usual strong circular sticker. instead it was tapped with a regular cellophane tape.
to top that off, the toy itself wasn't kept in a plastic that was completely sealed shut. rather, it was wrapped with a square plastic with the opening of the product exposed.
it does still have the typical chemical smell though.
should i be concerned? is it still eligible for refund in such case?

@ToyYoda I recently got an NPG hole that seemed haphazardly packaged. The red NPG bag was ripped open across the top. The toy itself was fine as far as I can tell, but this was much different than your case.
Contact TD support. They've always been extremely helpful with me. If you don't have pics of the packaging you might have some trouble, but the worst they can say is no. I imagine what they'd do is a return+replacement.

@Tittielover134 That's weird, probably just an accidental defect, every NPG product I've had came with a quality packaging job

@Tittielover134 The OP did reach out previously about his inquiry. With more replies to this as well as it's a question/concern that periodically pops up, we want to take this opportunity to give a little more background on this.
The first thing that everyone here in USA should keep in mind is that there is a bit of cultural difference regarding shrink-wraps, brand seals, and sealed inner bag. Most people here don't realize that returning things (even unopened) are very rare if not impossible in Asia. When ToyDemon was started 16+ years ago, a majority of onaholes came not shrink-wrapped, flaps taped over using regular tape, inner bag was opened on one end and taped closed with regular tape. Meiki no Syoumei 01 Maria Ozawa that now comes with so many layers of sealing came exactly in this unsealed way when it was launched.
We brought up the idea of shrink-wrapping and other means of sealing to manufacturers back in the day and were basically denied right away while got looked at funny for suggesting it. It was unnecessary and considered security theater to them. Doing so also means they would have to buy new equipment and spend more work/time on packaging each item for what they viewed as unneeded.
It took years of explaining, and talking(nagging) before changes started to come about with small changes here and there that built up to what it is now. Since we mentioned Meiki no Syoumei 01 Maria Ozawa earlier, we'll use it as our example. First packaging change to it was the taped inner bag became a sealed clear bag. This clear bag was pretty weak and if you shake the box, the bag seal pops open and the onahole breaks through. Shake it a little harder and the tape on the box also breaks. More talking(nagging) eventually lead to the box being shrink-wrapped while the box tape became a logo printed tape and double bagging with clear sealed bags on the inside. More time pass and the logo printed tape became a logo seal, inner bags got thicker with a better sealing, and the most recent change to the use of a logo resealable bag.(their logo resealable bag still has some edge seal strength issues but that's a discussion for another time)
The Meiki no Syoumei series got these upgrades because tons of them are sold internationally and they became persuaded that it was in the item series' interest to do these things. At the same time, these upgrades aren't applied to all their other products. We did a packaging breakdown about 7 or so years ago for NPG items and about 85% of items came in an unsealed bag, box or unshrink-wrapped way, only 20% came in what those in the USA would considered well sealed, and less than 5% in a double sealed or logo resealable bag. Often onaholes considered more on the economy side (for most brands) still comes the way it did traditionally. The one meaningful change we do see now is that almost all items comes shrink-wrapped. There are still items that are not shrink-wrapped but it has become very rare.
We understand that due to the nature of onaholes, people can feel uneasy when it doesn't come sealed in the way they expected but the amount of sealing really shouldn't be a reflection on the onahole or brand. Our items comes directly from the manufacturers and we have almost no returns. Hope this information helps relieve some fears about how these items are packaged.
