Has magic eyes decided to discontinue this toy? Luckily I saw it in clearance and grabbed the last one but I'm sad to see it go. They've hooked me with a couple of their toys now and then pulled the rug out from under me later on.

@TimmyTucker @jonarby our clearance section is really a place to find some good products at a huge discount. With so many products that we carry it is hard for every product to be seen by a customer browsing the website unless they know exactly what they're looking for beforehand. Many times this leads to great products sitting on the shelf overstocked that we rather lower the quantity of those and replace with other new products to the site. That's mainly how some products end up on the clearance section, sometimes even popular products if they somehow fell into a dry spell.

@Jonarby Yes, we have seen a few good products that have been selling very well and then completely died off when the one and only review it got was a negative one. That's why we give out reward points if you review a product, the more review there is on a product the more accurate the rating.

@**TD** I've been trying to buy and review products with a single 1-star review and ones with no reviews at all. From my experience almost all of these 1-star reviews are from a single user and I find that their reviews are unhelpful, like they rate a product 1-star for something that's personal preference. When I think of a 1-star toy I think of something that falls apart after a single use, or something fundamentally flawed with the toy.
I got so sick of seeing their reviews I actually hired a friend to make a firefox extension to remove his unhelpful reviews and update the total on my end. That way he can still make his reviews but I don't have to see them as I don't find any of them to be helpful when making a purchase.
Have you considered giving the first 3 reviews 100 points? This might encourage people to review faster and also help even out a products rating if it only had a single review. Just a thought.

@Jonarby That is pretty hardcore what you did! Did your friend double take when you asked him to do that? lol.
As for the 1-star reviews, the only thing we can urge people do is comment on it and downvote it so other people will be better informed. However, that won't stop the bad 1-star rating that it shows and thus having less people willing to buy it. But we cannot deny these reviews just so that the item will sell better. This is why Pre-Order (best deal as it's discounted and Free Shipping) and New products (usually 10% off) have discounts so that we hope people will be willing to try it.
As for your review idea for new products, it looks good in theory, but from our experience when we do something like this, people will always take advantage of that. We will get reviews such as they got product somewhere else and put up some random sentences taken from other products for the review just so they can get the extra points.

@**ToyDemon** He was confused at first, but once he saw the reviews he understood.
I guess you're right that it would be too difficult to moderate that sorta thing and it probably would encourage low-effort reviews.
I just always feel so bad when I see an onahole with a single 1-star review cause I know that people are going to pass those up.
I know I'm going to be doing my part though and try to review onaholes with few or no reviews to help bring them to a rating they deserve, whether that be good or bad.

@TimmyTucker If it was a ToyDemon clearance than it could just be the toy isn't selling enough for ToyDemon to restock, which is the case for most Items in Clearance and ToyDemon has limited warehouse inventory. However It could also be due to manufacturer discontinuing the product, the only way to know for sure is to do some research to see if other sites are still selling it in a couple weeks. If they are than most likely it's just ToyDemon deciding that the product wasn't popular enough to keep stocking, if not than it's probably been discontinued.

@TimmyTucker We currently have two labels for discontinued items, either "Discontinued" which is where we have decided to stop carrying the product or "Discontinued by MFR" which is a product that the manufacturer have decide to stop producing. Obviously there is a possibility that a products that is listed as "Discontinued" by us is also discontinued by the manufacturer after we stop carrying it since we wouldn't be checking the availability of every product unless someone would like to special order it again. For any product that is listed as "Discontinued" you can always contact us about it and we'll see if we can still acquire it for you.

@TimmyTucker Clearance usually means it's the last chance to buy said product period. Sometimes it can mean just getting rid of overstock of an item but usually its the former. Happens in every line of retail. TD usually notes on a product if it's discontinued by manufacturer or not. If they haven't in this case so you want to see if it's still around (I presume you want to get one as a replacement or back up) then yes check other sites and or ask TD direct. If it is simply them discontinuing it/carrying it, ask if they'll special order another in for you.
