Just wanted to share my opinion on this months "perk." I really don't think it can be called a "monthly perk", it's not a discount, it's not double reward points it's not even some extra $$$ for every $XXX.XX amount you spend, it's just up to $10 in reward points once and what's worse is they expire the end of the month.
Yes I know it's free rewards points and some might say "would you rather have nothing?!?!?" an yeah It is technically better than nothing but that doesn't mean it's a good perk, cause it's not.
Really the worst perk so far and it kinda feels half assed.
I spent over $300 last month. I don't think I'll be spending much this month, I'd rather save my money for a month with a better perk.
Would love to hear your opinions! I'm going to make this my first post to use my newly acquired poll feature so you can share your opinion without having to comment, comments are still welcome though!
Pretty sure this is also the first community post to use the poll feature that was not created by TD themselves.

As someone who has spent very small amounts of money and large amounts of money on this site over the years (totalling probably around $10k), I have to say that the perks (including this months!) are awesome. There are no other sites like ToyDemon with this kind of selection, rewards program, free shipping, good prices, excellent customer service, and then FREE extra perks on top of all that! Don’t let naysayers like this who want to complain about free things make you feel like the majority of your users don’t enjoy them. We do. Keep up the perks and keep operating the best damn specialist sex toy store on the planet.

@eelsushi ToyDemon is the best option available, they give a lot to their users. I don't think this means they're immune to criticism though. Is it bad for me to be a bit disappointed at this months perk compared to multiple months of objectively far better perks? no it's not. I also think that the way ToyDemon responded essentially saying that since I felt like venting a bit that they might cancel the perks all together. I don't have a problem with perks, even this one specifically I just thought this one was comparatively disappointing compared to previous months that's all.
I think it's obvious that I don't speak for the majority of users, this site has been around since 2008 or something and I only joined literally less than 4 months ago I don't even come close to representing everyone on this site. Neither did the guy who made a post complaining about the perk for (I think it was July?) No single person speaks for the majority if a sites users, that'd be silly.
Do I regret making this post? sorta, specifically I regret how I worded it. I posted this essentially at midnight, just got home from a long plane ride and I think I overall worded the whole thing too negatively. If I could redo it (or had I waited until morning) I'd simply ask in a more non-bias way what people thought of this months perk, there's no undo button on life (and no delete/edit button for users when they make a comment/post) but that's totally okay.
I think ToyDemon is a great site, others simply don't compare especially in these COVID-19 times. However I don't think it's wrong to share my opinions, even if those opinions are negative just like everyone else is free to share their opinions or tell me why they disagree with mine.

@eelsushi Thank you for your kind words we really appreciate it. Customers like you are what keeps us going and trying our best to make our selection and website better.
@Jonarby We never said we are immune to criticism. Take this post for example, you were really down on it and decided to post that it's really bad. But when the perks were good, you didn't make a post to mention how it was great.
This happens behind closed doors all the time. We often get complaints from customers on things out of our control (shipping carrier delays, manufacture defects) and then we get accused for trying to scam them and calling us all sorts of names. But when we go out of our way to ship the orders as fast as we can while having limited people in our warehouse currently because of COVID and even upgrade some shipping methods for some, we rarely hear a "Thank you".
What I posted is above is not asking for sympathy or that we should be thanked for what we do. We are a business, we provide a service and in return we hope to get customers. But when a lot of things being focused on are negative (mostly customer service), it frustrates everyone here at ToyDemon.
Perhaps we were too hasty as well in thinking about removing perks all together. Being able to discuss it here and hear from you guys has helped us learn and try to do better. This is why we spent a lot of time developing the community, so that we can have discussions like this.

@**ToyDemon** For most people, especially when it comes to talking to a business (which is what ToyDemon is as you mention.) they consider no news as good news, however I'll gladly thank you for June, August and September's rewards as they were all very good and I remember liking them.
Yeah, customers are sometime unreasonable and sometimes customers will purposefully be unreasonable to see what they can get out of it. That's just part of running a business, especially a customer service department. It's what they call "a thankless job" it doesn't mean their aren't people who are grateful, heck this very post proves that there are people here who will fight for you no matter what you say because "it's better than nothing".
It kinda seems like what you said IS asking for sympathy or at least it really does feel that way to me. Like you say, you're a business, you're not my neighbor or a family member or even a long distance friend. You are a business if ToyDemon ceased operation I would not cry, I would not mourn. I might be a little upset because the alternatives objectively are not as good, but I'd get over it and I'd manage.
Yeah, you were absolutely too hasty in saying that because of my post you'd be removing perks all together, It would make everyone think I am solely responsible for perks being removed and because of the way you handled this post my wife has suggested I stop ordering from ToyDemon all together and send a CCPA (California Consumer Privacy Act) deletion request to take my reviews and posts with me and honestly that's been a tempting proposition.
Despite ToyDemon being a business you, and I mean you community manager this time. Handle community posts with far too much emotion and partisanship. You've referred to other customers ungrateful, called out users for "not bothering to read" (citation: Community Giveaway #9: $20 Reward Points for 3 Winners! "Your worst shopping experience?") the support feature and you've threatened to remove an entire feature of the site due to one of my posts.
ToyDemon is a business, it does not have feelings. Personally as a customer who has spent close to 2k on this site in less than 4 months I don't like being treated like I have been treated by you, once again Community Manager you.
Seriously you honestly threatened to remove an entire loyalty feature of the site because I didn't like 1 month's perk, do you realize how ridiculous that is? That's like a restaurant taking away desert for everyone because someone didn't like their chocolate cake.
I'm really frustrated at the whole thing and if I do decide to send out a CCPA deletion request (This isn't a threat I'm legitimately still deciding on it.) and not make any more orders than maybe you'll know why. I'm sure I'm not a huge loss but I know I'm larger than a drop in the bucket, who knows maybe losing me will make ToyDemon start being a little nicer to the Customers who dare say something slightly negative against a certain feature of the company, even if that feature is just that month's reward perk.

@Jonarby Give me a break, man. If you don’t want to shop here, don’t shop here. You say ToyDemon “doesn’t have feelings” but you fail to recognize that the business is made up of a bunch of _people_ who do have feelings. The world doesn’t revolve around you and your cheesy CCPA threats.

@eelsushi Do you think it's good customer support to vent about how stupid other customers are with their customer support tickets in a public forum to other customers?
After all, human beings have feelings and who is going to feel comfortable messaging customer support that giggles about how stupid you are?
I have a hard time sympathizing with someone who bad mouths their customers on a public forum, but gets offended and threatens to remove an entire feature of the site just because 1 guy doesn't like a monthly perk.
With the response I got to this post someone could easily assume I straight up slapped the ToyDemon staff in the face, but my post is incredibly tame and literally just says that I'm not a big fan of this months perk. Do you think ToyDemon threatening to take away the monthly perks entirely is a reasonable and rational response to my post?
I love ToyDemon, they are objectively the best site offering what they are offering hands down, but just because they're the best doesn't mean I am not allowed to express my distaste for how certain things are done.
People not liking my post? Alright sure I can respect that, but threatening to remove an entire feature of the site cause I thought last month's perk was better and thought this one was kinda disappointing?
There's no way any reasonable person could think that is an acceptable way to respond.

For some reason the poll feature didn't seem to work, so I guess comments will have to do, sorry.
The poll question was
"How do you feel about October's "Monthly Perk"?"
1. Disappointing
2. It's Great!
3. Eh, Better than nothing.
I put that there just in case TD sees this and decides to fix this issue as I did enter it, it just isn't showing up.

@Jonarby we are damned if we do, damned if we don't. We can't win, we will look internally and maybe cancel the perk features going forward.
**ToyDemon** ( 8413 )
@Jonarby As for the poll, we will take a look. It worked for us and we had it locked behind users with 100+ upvotes so the feature hasn't been used much at all. You're the first one so far. We will check and see if there's any issues so we can fix it. Thanks for letting us know.

@**ToyDemon** I think this month is the only perk that I really had a real problem with all the other perks were something that were an active benefit through out the whole month but this one is just a 1 time purchase perk.
At first I thought the September perk wasn't that great but that was mainly cause I didn't know the points didn't expire end of September. Even if they did though I did actually really like that perk saved me over $30 that month, so that was nice.
My personal opinion is "Monthly Perks" should actively benefit you throughout the whole month. Whether that be slightly bigger discount, slightly larger amount of reward points or even like last month where you get essentially cashback on orders worth a certain amount of money.
My idea for an october perk would be maybe a discount on "Monster Girl" onaholes. So like if you got the ToysHeart Cow Girl Onahole that'd be 10% off or if you got a Monster Quest onahole you'd get 10% off. Sorta like a Halloween thing. Though I can understand how that would be more difficult to setup.
Honestly I think I'd even be fine with this month's perk if the points didn't expire and it was just "here's some points" and I do think it's better than nothing just disappointed because all the previous month perks were so good, especially last months.
I really would hate to have the monthly perks discontinued and I know I'm not the only one, though I understand your position.
As for the poll, some helpful info is when I posted this it gave me an error something along the lines of "there was an issue saving your post" or something, I thought the whole post had been removed but it was just the poll.

@Jonarby I have mentioned elsewhere, not all of our customers are power users. Most rarely order once per quarter. A perk is something that is extra on top of the tier reward earning and discounts, it may or may not to be an active benefit throughout the month. You might not like the free money, but others might be able to get a free bag/warmer/cleaner with the free money this month and if not, nothing of value was gained or lost since it was free. Either way, we will review and decide on the perk.
As for the poll. I tested similarly when making a topic with a poll so I will check with our developer and see what is going on. Hopefully we'll get it fixed soon so it'll work as intended.

@**ToyDemon** You're right, when I was just starting I would've probably loved this perk, as you said it's free money.
I think the real issue was my personal perception of what the monthly perks were supposed to be.
Sorry for any inconvenience and also thank you for looking into the poll thing for me.

@Jonarby We figure out the bug in the poll. As long as you don't put in ' (single quote / apostrophe) in the Poll Title and Poll Options. It will display fine. It was overlooked by the developers and they will update soon. As of now, you can post polls as long as you don't put in '.

@Jonarby I'm not that surprised, i'm still pleased with it and bought something this month that I know sells out fast. With that said, i'm pretty sure it has something to do with them getting ready to have a banger of a bargain for black Friday.

@Jonarby Since it's a poll i'd say (2) but technically it's both 2 and 3 for me since I now have $4 more than I had yesterday.

@Papi Honestly you're right. I think I was too quick in creating this post and pointing the finger, honestly I regret it.
It's silly of me to expect every single month's perk is going to be better than or equal to the last, looking back at the post I noticed that TD even said themselves that this perk wasn't really anything special it was just a perk for the sake of having a perk and that's okay. In the end I would prefer pretty much anything over nothing.
