I am still fairly new to the ona scene and have a question regarding Tomax softness levels. I know these topics seem to have been done ad nauseam but I think this is a new question.
When TD used to have a softness scale the Tomax onas listed like this:
Hard (6)
Regular (7)
Soft (8)
Very Soft (9)
Rich Soft (10)
Now since everyone uses the NPG ZXY as THE point of reference on darn near everything I dug into what that was rated.. from my research from members the ZXY was rated a 7 and the ZXY is supposed to (by most accounts) be darn near like the real thing. I own and have enjoyed a ZXY for years and I love the softness and have chased other onas that are similar in softness and stimulation.
This would lead me to deduce that if I like the ZXY that in a Venus Real or Clone, I'd really like it in a "Regular" (7). As I kept digging into these softness ratings it was noted that Fleshlights are all rated as a softness of.... 7... quickly followed up by "Fleshlights feel nothing like the real thing"
So how can a FL in a 7 that feels unnatural and rubbery be the same rating as a ZXY in a 7 that "feels like heaven."
At the end of the day I'm trying to ascertain if the Tomax "Regular" feels more like a FL 7 or a ZXY 7!
Any more seasoned folks opinions are more than appreciated.

@AHistorian The experience for any item depends on the item material's softness, material tensile strength, along with its tunnel design. We used to have softness (material softness), and tightness (tensile strength) scales. The ZXY and the entire series in general is considered to be like the real thing because it has the right combination of those three factor.
We removed the tightness scale as even though it is something that can be quantified, the user's size and tunnel design will start the person on a different starting point on the tensile strength graph for different items. While we believe the information was useful, many complained about it as it needs some understanding of how tensile strength work for the scale to be useful.
Softness was removed and returned a few times due to requests until finally being removed permanently. Softness is only one variable to making something feel real. It should not be used as a mean to find if an item will feel real. In addition, the site rounded our internal system data into whole numbers on the webpage for simplification. Two items with Softness 7s might have been a 6.55 and 7.42 internally which would be noticeable different. This is also why we removed the rating as people would say "I bought 'X' because it's an 8 on softness and doesn't feel like 'Y' which is also an 8 on softness, your scale is wrong". Feel and experience is more than just material softness alone. We removed softness because we didn't want users to do this type of linear variable comparison which we believe would be inaccurate.

Add in the subjectiveness of each user's level of sensitivity and I can see the best of intentions leading to more infighting than a black and white answer.
I think I have it dialed in, to a point, I may just have to purchase a Tomax in a regular softness and make my own determination. I appreciate the site and the community discussions here and you chiming in to set a few things straight. Thank you!

@AHistorian I'm also fairly new - my first two (and so far only two) proper onaholes were a ZXY and the Tomax Lilith Uterus in Regular.
I'd put the two at basically the same softness - maybe the Tomax is a little softer than the ZXY? Both are noticeably softer than a Fleshlight. If they're a 7, I'd put the FL at a low 6.
I don't know how other Tomax softness levels compare.

Thank you for your insight! That is helpful because I have a Clone in "Soft" and a Real in "Very Soft" and so far I prefer the "Soft" over the "Very Soft" but was really not sure about how much tougher that "Regular" would be.
I feel like if things get stiffer or more rubbery than a ZXY I'm not interested in them. That level of stimulation and softness is perfect for me at the present time. I'm struggling with the right lube mix on the Real "Very Soft" -it finishes well, but the journey to the end has been meh on 2 attempts. Using thin lube sparingly I'm not sure if it's "user error" or that the "Very Soft" just isn't quite for me.. and that's ok to learn.
