To keep you guys in the loop regarding backorder items arrival estimate.
Due to west coast port congestions that have not eased up and cause further delays of our shipments, we have decided to paused backorder items rather than having you guys order them and wait without accurate information. Bear with us as we figure out how long the delays will be and if it’ll be an ongoing situation.
Some Backorders that were coming by Air will not be affected. In the coming days, we will be emailing those with items that are affected by further delays.

Is this problem related as to why many popular but out of stock items do not list ETA dates like they typically do?

@winkyblink Yes, that is part of it. Keep in mind that unless you visit the site everyday, a particular out of stock item could have just been sold out earlier in the day before your visit. So it won't have a ETA obviously as we need time to prep. Here is a gist of our procedure:
1. We need time to calculate the qty to re-order along with all the other products we need to order from the same vendor.
2. Submit our order and wait for them to confirm what they have available and the order total.
3. Send them our payment and wait for their final shipping confirmation.
4. Check that the shipment has indeed moved and is on the way to us.
5. Receive inventory at our warehouse and start shipping out all the pre/special/back order items.
Previously, we estimate the ETA on Step #2 when they confirm what is available and the order total, because we have worked with these vendors for a long time, we have a good idea what their turnaround is. This has worked well for us as we always give ourselves 1-2 weeks of cushion. Problem is now happening on step 4 and is wreaking havoc on all our ETAs. What's worse is they cannot confirm to us on step 4 when we can expect our shipment.
This is why we paused the Back-order until we can figure this out a little bit better. As mentioned above, we do not want you guys to think we are misleading you and just holding your order indefinitely.
We are changing more orders to ship by Air but that doesn't help with our many shipments that are already at sea floating its way over. Hope you guys understand.

@**TD** Is there any time frame for the shipments? I did not receive an email and the order is on hold. If I knew I had to wait a 1+ months I think I would have just bit the bullet and bought on amazon for $20 more.

@bobbyleeiscool we are extremely sorry for the delay. As you read above, this is outside of the norm and hence we paused our Backorders because of it. Last we heard from our freight company is that it is on the way rail to Chicago and won't be available this week, but that's all they know as well. We hoping by end of next week we will get it, but we can't confirm it as that will just frustrate everyone more if it slips again. We are just as frustrated as you are.
Order is put on hold so that we can monitor these orders specifically from this shipment from others. Again we apologize for the delay, if you need to cancel your order just simply contact our customer service and they will gladly refund your order in full tomorrow.
