Hold for Pickup
Changes to Hold for Pickup
As of 2025, we are implementing changes to how our Hold for Pickup service works. Below, we explain the details of these changes.
Cost & Quality
In the recent years, you may have noticed that Amazon Prime's 2-day delivery is no longer consistently reliable, depending on location. Similarly, some Hold at Location packages get stuck in transit with no updates, only to find out later that they’ve been sitting at the local station for days without being scanned for pickup.
The cost of shipping with FedEx Hold at Location has increased, but the service quality has declined. We've received numerous complaints from customers whose packages are stuck in "Out for Delivery" status for several days. After following up with FedEx, we've discovered that the packages were already at local stores like Walgreens or Dollar Tree, but the employees never scanned them for pickup or misplaced them.
Technical Issues
In recent years, FedEx has been updating and changing its tech systems and API, which has created issues with our checkout process for customers using FedEx Hold at Location. Rather than constantly fixing issues caused by these changes, we’ve decided to remove the FedEx Hold at Location option from our website. This will help prevent system-related issues during checkout.
Expanding Options with UPS and Modern Technology
We’ve also partnered with UPS in recent years, and some customers have expressed interest in picking up their packages at UPS stores, rather than being limited to FedEx Hold at Location.
Both UPS and FedEx have introduced features that give recipients more control over their deliveries. Through "UPS My Choice" and "FedEx Delivery Manager," customers can easily manage their packages, including selecting Hold for Pickup, redirecting to another address, or choosing a specific delivery date and window. These tools provide real-time updates and enhanced control over your shipments.
Key Changes
-Starting now, the 6-10 day shipping method will no longer include the option for Hold for Pickup
-For 3-5 Days, 3-Days, 2-Days, and 1-Day shipping, packages will be shipped via UPS or FedEx. From the tracking link in your shipment email, you can go directly to the respective website to manage your package and choose the Hold for Pickup option (you’ll need to sign up for a free account if you don’t already have one).
Thank you for your understanding as we make these changes.
