Just curious if anyone had any experience with lube powder. If so, any recommendations?
I was browsing for onaholes on another site and stumbled upon [Magic Eyes - 50 Bottles of Lotion Powder] for around $8 (but international shipping.....).
The descriptions claims that the 100g of powder makes 50 (360ml) bottles, or 18L of lube. If the claims are true, then this seems like insane value.
Plus, being able to customize the consistency/viscosity is major plus as well.
Has anyone tried this or any other brand of lube powder before? Would love to hear people's review before pulling the trigger on international shipping.
From my limited research so far, I know that there are powder lube we can get in the US such as:
- J-lube: 10Oz (I'm guessing this is around 286g) ~$19 (Amzn), claims 6-8 Gallons (around 22-28 Liters)
- X-lube: 100g ~$42 (Amzn), claims 20+ Liters
- K-lube: 7Oz/200g ~$36 (Amzn), also claims 20 Liters
-Cobeco Male Powder Lubricant: 225g ~$29 (Eby), claims 25 Liter
From a Liter/$ perspective, J-lube seems like the best choice at around 1.16 or 1.48 Liters/$. But the Magic Eyes powder still has it beat at around 2 Liters/$ (Note, this is without factoring in international shipping. The powder and bottle shouldn't be too big, so shipping shouldn't be too bad if bundling with other items).
People have used this lube powder, but the intended use of J-lube seems to be for vets to "fist cows" [r/OnaholeToys/comments/p938ya/best_onahole_lubes/].
An even more frugal option would be
Cornstarch: 16Oz ~$2

A reddit recipe, just replace the 2 teaspoon j-lube with 4 teaspoon cornstarch:
30 grams propylene glycol
30 grams glycerin (optional; can use 60 grams of propylene glycol)
2 teaspoons j-lube
1 teaspoon xanthan gum
⅛ teaspoon carageenan (optional)
⅛ teaspoon citric acid
250 grams hot water (no more)
Mix dry ingredients and propylene glycol and glycerin very well with an electric hand mixer with 1 beater in a 2 cup measuring cup. While the mixer is mixing add hot water and mix well with the hand electric mixer. Double check for unmixed spots.

One of my concerns with these lube you mix yourself is the shelf life. It seems that people recommend to only keep the mixed lube for up to 1 week - some people have recommended to add in citric acid (like in the recipe above) to prevent mold, but they don't say how long that would increase the shelf life, if at all.
